Playing with a friend of mine, returner from ARR content, I can already feel how demoralized he is trying to catch up in time. To actually reach relevant content ....

Don´t make him feel he has to hurry and don´t tell him that all old content isn´t relevant.

Tell your friend, that in FF14 the Story is relevant content and to take his time and enjoy it.

Run the old dungeons and alliance raids with him if he needs a break from questing.

Problem solved.

Edit: didn´t read, that its about yourself, so let me tell you: The story is good, take your time, older content is not irrelevant.
