All trolling aside

We play these games to have fun, we meet people that we like and they add to our fun and we have our competitors and its easy to get caught up in the trolling and competitive nature of gaming. I think whats happened in Japan has made me really look into our experience in XIV and some of the awesome people we have encountered from Japan, now we label them as JP's and they label us as NA's but how many of them are being affected right now, do we really know?

I would be devastated if I were to log in when servers come back and never see Asterisk setting up shop in front of the fountain, or Shiogachunmuchi running around naked shouting in Japanese....we see these players as our competition and just animations on a screen but who knows where and what they are doing right now. I dont know the geography of Japan that well, I dont know if the areas most affected would be areas where a prominent amount of gamers would be but I do know that they are all affected in some way whether its family or friends. As the servers alchemist for a long time I met more Japanese players than most I think, some of them the most gracious and giving people...my heart goes out to them and hope that Ill get to see them again and offer my condolences for what they must be going through as a country right now.

I look at trolling and that sort of nonsense squabbling as...I don't know. Some drama can be entertaining, but forum battles and harassment and that sort of thing is just childish, really

You mention the conflict in Japan right now, and you make a great point. This is all just a game, we're all just people. I hope everything works out for the Japanese people, given the circumstances.

Honestly, if all anyone has to truly worry about at the moment is some arguments or nonsense on a message board or in an MMO, they should always count themselves extremely lucky. You could be, for example, working around the clock, at risk of death, at a failing nuclear power plant to avert radioactive disaster.

Perspective, people.

Edit: Though, I will add, that despite whatever negative stuff may be going on, I still really enjoy this game's community and hope to play for a very long time.

Meh, I don't agree..I don't need to troll, it's only mildly entertaining for a while then it just gets old. Especially when it's the same people spewing the same stuff over and over.

I think the only Troll here, is Martin. You seem to show up in every topic where it occurs with your "Holier than Thou" attitude, and putting others down. Solara wasn't even trolling. She was legit pissed off with the way she was treated in her old shell. While I don't agree with how she went about it, she wasn't trolling. She wasn't trying to bait anyone into getting pissed off or iritated, she was the one that was pissed off and decided to confront the person that made her feel that way. Then bickering occured, then the thread was deleted by Solara, realizing she hadn't taken the best course of action.

You're just a negative person, Martin, that feels the need to roll around on your High Horse and act like you're better than the trolls, when really you're one of them. You are part of the problem you appear to be wanting to fix.

No if anything, Martin seems to have it pretty well put together. You cant get mad when someone can see the forest for the trees. The person you defend has alot of "Trollish" behavior and plays victim in every post they post. Dont feel bad when you post some useless garbage and people tell you the truth on how it really is.

She seems to harbor ill feelings for a person who has left the game and decides to let everyone know how she feels when the individual cant even defend themselves from the accusations of a completely deranged person.

IMO that just leads to her own posts being trolled.

I feel touched xD... actually I never considered myself better than trolls, in fact, I consider trolls something BELOW an avarage human being, something "Lesser". People that call the attention around and stuff, I must admit I love to put them down even if I get hated and stuff, and oh hey, if she feels irritated, let's not release frustration or anger on forums, it's very childish

Yet you replied to my "Off Topic" post. Trolls are people, just like you. They just have different motives. They want to have some fun at the expense of others, and with FFXIV being down it is no surprise people troll these forums for something to do.

No matter what you think, you are not better than Trolls. They are people posting on forums with real life friends, real life families, and real life responsibilities. You can dislike that someone Trolls and disapprove of it, but saying they are "Less than Human" is, frankly, disgusting and I am offended you would say that about another person.
