Anyways that aside, is it just me or does it seem like its been unusually quiet of late in regards to the ShB PR and media presence?

Reddit users are freaking out about crunch time and things not being prepared in time for launch. And I share their sentiments. Ive been to Japan and seen their work ethic over there. ITS LUDICROUS. if the devs are in crunch time, I hope they are seriously considering delaying launch or aspects of launch for a bit. Folks deserve rest. No one works well on 4hrs sleep (I know...)

is it important? is it like a beta for WOW or something?

The latter, showing off new zones/AF sets/job actions. It also includes character customization for new races so that you can make something you like, save it, and then import it when the expansion goes live if you decide to use a fantasia or roll an alt.

Foreground shows off new features brought by the expansion, while background is a PC stress-test that gives you a score at the end. And like Daralii said, it gives you a character creator that lets you save looks that can be transferred to the main game once the expansion does hit.

Its a shame but I guess it will be here when it gets here and I would rather they get it right, I hope it is sooner rather than later we seem to be on a go slow lol

The small software company I worked for years ago had a terrible software system and you had to just hack shit together with a ridiculous deadline. I'm amazed This game is as amazing as it is.
