Please Help - Trying To Buy Stormblood Digital DL

Hi I am from Australia and I am a bit confused. I had trial from way back, I returned when I heard trials were unlimited in time. I leveled some classes, got to 35ish on two then decided I was having enough fun to buy the full version.

So apparently there are many websites in FF14 that take care of different aspects of the game. I used mogstation "Upgrade to full version". Now I am assuming mogstation is not region locked. It had 9.99 euros, I was wondering why it was in euros since there is no EU in the mogstation addy.

Anyway long story short I bought the full digital PC ARR version through mogstation. Now I am 50 I don't want to wait 2 months being stuck before Shadowbringers. I saw Stormblood just then on sale for $20 in the FINAL FANTASY® XIV ONLINE GOLDEN WEEK SALE 2019 I want to buy it, but it keeps saying: "Your credentials are correct but there is a problem". I go try to log in where it leads me, says email is in use.

So I check the EU store and Stormblood is full price... then I read that you need a separate account for the store. So I try to make one with my mogstation email and it says the email is in use... I ask for a reset but no email is sent. Then it says you select an account below to log in, I do, I get put to "members account" to register another. I get sent to an English members website. https://store.eu.square-enix-games.com/en_AU? then I am at the EU store again it's asking me to log in and I get the same error message... sigh.

So I am at a lost. I read one place a key doesn't matter which store for PC digital, then I read it does. lol I just want to buy Stormblood PC digital download that's right now on sale @ https://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/stormblood/

What can I do? It's very frustrating. When I click the mogstation "Buy Stormblood" it throws me to the EU store and Stormblood is DOUBLE the price. What's even more confusing is I tried to log into the EU store just to see what would happen and I got the same message "Your credentials are correct but there is a problem".


So I can't log into either NA/EU stores and also are the prices always not related? If NA has a 50% special and you're EU you still have to pay 100% etc? Now I am scared of buying an NA key that might not work in mogstation register game key. Will it work? It says Australians are supported by the EUROPEAN services, so does that mean if I get this working I can't use NA purchases on my mogstation?

Also a second question, I was trying to see if my mogstation account was eu/na, because I registered the trial back in 2017. I must have put a random date of birth because I was only really intending to play it for 2 weeks. Now I can't view account information yet I can still buy/navigate anywhere else.

The game is region locked, but has only NA, EU, and JP regions. It sounds like yours is an EU account, in which case, you'd need an EU code for the expansion and wouldn't be able to use a NA code even if you got one.

I have no idea why you're having trouble logging into Square-Enix's EU store, though, nor why their sale wouldn't match between the different regions.

You could try just going to a third party retailer instead of SE directly. They won't have that particular 50% off sale, but Stormblood has been out long enough that they might have it cheaper than full price anyway. Just be sure that what you buy is for the right region. (If you get the game from a retailer, they'll give you a code which you then enter in the Mogstation to upgrade the account.)

I managed to be able to register on the EU store site. I guess since they put Australia with EU my trial account from years ago was flagged as EU. I also read that they do different sales for NA and EU, the EU one just past 1 month ago so I missed out. I was looking at third party sites, some are selling for around 50% off but there are always mixed reviews with people getting the wrong keys even when they select the right zone, getting steam ones, or simply not getting one at all.

Do you know of any other trusted sites to buy it off? That's why I usually like to buy it on the official site so there are less worries.

How often do they do sales? Do you think the EU store will have it 50% again before Shadowbringers? I guess it's either that or try get a physical copy at a shop, but I prefer digital download. I have no worries paying $20 for 2 months of Stormblood and pre-ording Shadowbringers if I am still having fun, but paying $40 for Stormblood is too much.
