Hello;
I'm on the prowl for a server to move to and looking at who's recruiting and such.
A few basic questions:
- what time zone are you folks most active in? I'm on California so my active times tend to be after 6-7pm PST, which is rather late for ESTers.
- Any 'role' that might be 'locked down' already and not available for some group thing you're setting up?
- A cap of 35 players - what are you views on alts? As an 'old time MMO player' I am an alt-addict so even here in FFXIV, I have 4 different characters that are finished with the MSQ and have from 1-3 70 jobs on each (I split them into 4 roles: tank, heals/caster, melee, ranged-physical, and of 4 different races).
- what bugged you about the realm you folks left? It's one of the ones I was also looking at, and wondering why you left it (realm culture as a whole, or just not in the community that was best for you like what I note about my story below).
I'm currently in the polar opposite of you folks, a mega-guild alliance that stretches across, at last count, 5 full FCs, of 500 members each, with a no alts policy... so... really my entire realm seems to be in this same FC... and it's just too impersonal even though the ones that actually post into my branch's FC chat are decent folks, I have no idea who 99% of the rest of them are.
So... your cap of members actually seems appealing.![]()

Hey thanks for getting back to me.
For me unfortunately I am a severe alt-fiend (back in City of Heroes I had 42 characters, but then again most people had even more. In WoW I had 24 at max level... and that's just my thing...).
My "main" is literally whoever I logged into last, so my primary reason for wanting to jump from where I am now was finding 2 of my characters got "found out" and tossed out of the FC to make room. Which I understand since they're thing is getting as many 'people' as possible, and FFXIV is not an 'alt based' game. But... I'm basically seeking somewhere I can have all of them and that not be seen as a weird exception. And I kinda need to server jump because Leviathan has about 9-10,000 active players and 2,500 of them are in the same FC... maybe more if they've added a 6th chapter yet... so it's kinda awkward being on the server if you're NOT in 'G' (the FC's name).
Never realized before how fitting it is that a massive 'multi-FC alliance' is on a realm named 'Leviathan'...
(ps: for how they manage that huge size, they have people who spam invites bi-weekly across the server... I've had a character get invited in after it was tossed out...)...
I do applaud you guys for the small tight focus. Cozy communities make being in an FC worth it for everyone. My WoW guild was almost like that before BfA spelled the end of my WoW days.

Hi, can you expound on your activity plans a bit:
1) What are you plans, if any, for "daily" activities/groups, such as daily roulette groups, leveling groups, content progress groups (e.g. catching up on old content)?
2) What are your plans, if any, for raiding?
3) What is your philosophy on member engagement? Basically, how do you as FC leaders/officers interact with members when they log on and off, during their time on, within FC chat, LS, and on Discord, and what kind of environment do you want to and are you fostering? Do you make the effort to greet everyone when they log on/off and actively engage them (e.g. "Hi WB!" "HAGN!" "We have this going on tonight..." etc.)?
A little background on me and what I'm looking for (it's a bit long): I'm an older (late 30s) player in the US CST time zone and I've been playing on and off for the last 3 years and have been in several FCs, with just over a year for my longest. That FC splintered due to some crazy drama and some of us left or were cast-away and so I've been trying out several FCs ranging from mid-sized (30+) to very large (300+) and just can't seem to feel "at home." As I am FC hopping, I find that while most of them advertise being "Active" "Friendly" "Run Content Together" etc., it really feels like I'm just another random member and hard to break into that small core group of people (or a few small cliques in the really large FCs) that really interact and do stuff together.
While I don't miss the drama of my old FC, I due miss certain aspects: we always reached out to every member whenever they logged on and off and tried to be inclusive of all members and organize activities for whoever was on (e.g. daily roulettes, WTs, content progression, raids, etc.). As one of the senior FC officers, I helped with shaping and organizing the FC and especially with it's content progression side, so I always tried to be inclusive for everything we did, such as focusing on getting everyone who wants to raid together and teach/learn, progress together, and have fun vs. restricting parties to "who's the best" and can get them the "clear", which I find is what a lot of FC parties end up being. For whatever reason, elitism starts to come out when dealing with high-end/end-game content![]()
I didn't and don't tolerate any disparaging, condescending sh!t-talking when it comes to people learning how to progress and clear content. I believe that being patient and explaining what went wrong (and right) and then overcoming challenges and having fun are absolutely essential to fostering a close, tight-knit group that can progress together.
Also, I found that daily small activity groups with whoever was on was/is a key aspect to having an "Active" FC (e.g. roulette parties, dungeon parties, old and new content progression parties, etc.) vs simply having a bunch of people on and doing random stuff on their own or in a "pug".

Hello. I’m very interested in joining. A smaller tight-knit FC is exactly what I’m looking for. I’m a returning FFXIV player, I stopped playing almost 2 years ago. In that time I forgot about 90% of my FFXIV knowledge. About 2 weeks ago I decided to start playing again, I deleted my old character and started over. I’m currently a level 27 Gladiator. I like to do any and all types of content, and overall I just really enjoy the world of FFXIV. My in game name is Alex Lightwind. My discord username is Knight Alex#4348.
