Job Mounts

Job/Class mounts would be neat. Especially if they were through Job Quests (Rather than spam a ton of duties...). Even better if they were from some sort of job/class based side activity (You know, like Masked Carnivale... Only good)

Paladin: An armoured Pegasus.
Warrior: An armoured Manticore
Dark Knight: A giant armoured Raven that's formed out of the Abyss made physical (So dark red/purple and leaving a sort of inky trail behind it)

White Mage: A phoenix
Scholar: A butterfly
Astrologian: An Eagle made out of stars like a constellation.

Monk: A tiger, that gets enhanced with Chakra when it starts to fly.
Dragoon: A dragon. With Blood of the Dragon style glowy wyrms. (Reference)
Ninja: A giant spinning shuriken
Samurai: A nine-tailed Fox

Bard: IDK...
Machinist: Clockwork Dragon

Black Mage: A griffon where the eagle half is made out of fire and the lion part is made out of ice.
Summoner: Freaking Bahamut wings.
Red Mage: IDK...
Blue Mage: A Morbol

I'm surprised that I didn't think of a butterfly for SCH nor the toad for NIN. Those sound perfect!

A voidsent for Black Mage might be interesting given their frequent association with each other. We already have an Ahriman mount but keeping SE's tendency to reuse models in mind maybe they could go with Angra Mainyu (from the World of Darkness raid and the "Eye Scream for Ice Scream" FATE in Eureka Pagos)?

Ninja could get the fire toad they can summon as a mount.

Coeurl seems an obvious choice for Monks, though we already have a coeurl mount from the ARR collector's edition and DRK's panther but perhaps they could use one of the other types of coeurls seen in game?

For Red Mage my first thought was a a gazelle for some reason... an animal from Gyr Abania to reflect its origins? /shrug

Bard should have a colorful songbird, like the Bi Fang from Yanxia.

I'd personally say a swallow for NIN. All the important ninja characters have some animal associated with them(Bats for Karasu and Gekkai, falcon for Yugiri and others directly under Hien, swallow for Oboro and Tsubame, etc), a mount-sized bat would likely be awkward to design(especially since all the bats in XIV are very cartoony), we already have the elemental falcons from Heavensward primals, and a swallow would allow SE would reuse an existing skeleton while making a model that's distinct. Oboro and Tsubame were also the ones that taught the WoL to be a shinobi in the first place.

I wouldn't mind, but i would like if they were a part of a job quest similar to how WoW had job quests for Paladin/Warlock/Druid, a simple go grind "xyz" approach like the tank mounts is boring, yes i do understand its a little incentive for players who usually don't play tank, to do so, so they could get those mounts and help with the queue.

Edith: i see Kalise had similar things to say regarding the way to obtain it (probably should have read the entirety of the thread). Also some the mount suggestions she/he made are really cool.

MCH should hang onto their King Turret (Satellite Beam) with one arm as it hovers like a helicopter.
Dragoon's could be a Wyrm like Hraesvalgar.

We should get more job mounts, but they shouldn't be obtained the same way as the tank mounts, I don't think you get how harmful it would be for DF, most of those tanks in DF aren't tank mains, incentivizing them to stay on their healer/dps mains or they lose a mount would have a big negative impact on DF queues.

You don't know that, the fact that they did a second round of tank mount achievements tells me they actually do work to get people to casually tank, maybe not everyone, but it doesn't need to reach that far for it to be effective.
