Modding would VOID the mogstations. Because people could just give them access personally to said items and that's the majority of the reason to get something.

That being said. If you look there is a mod community out there but it requires HEX editing to insert data into the main files which were enough to make me not bother with it.

You do realize that people who mod do that for the whole purpose to make their characters look pleasing for them right? None of them acutally cares about your character and your glamour and they are certainly not all using lingerie mods.

Thank god i don't mod and i don't care if people mod their stuff. Otherwhise i would loose sleep over unimportant pixles at the end.

As for mods, for example in World of Warcraft, people started to use them back in "vanilla", and are still using them - despite Blizzards attempts to cripple their usage now and then. I remember reading news how WoW "killed" their use, but eventually people once again found way to get their mods back in. Sadly each time it just made modding WoW more and more "malicious", as originally they were simple drag-and-drop files, but nowadays you need that cheating program that triggered WoW's latest major ban-wave.

The line between WoW modding and straight-up cheating/botting is so thin due to Blizzards restrictive new settings, that they even went and un-banned tons of active botters. So it begs to question, is it really worth meddling with modding if it's not really harming game? Do we really want to repeat what Blizzard did with World of Warcraft?
The crippling your referring to is the infamous 7.3 patch that locked down the executable, prior to that people could mod the game by just placing modified files in the folder but once that patch hit they had to use injectors to run modified files which is likely why the ban wave the other day was reversed so quickly as the same method used for cheating was also used by those for cosmetic purposes and they realised that they messed up since BFA has well been rather crappy (to FFXIV's advantage as well as the game's getting far more players from wow because of it.)

As for modding it's always been a grey area as OFFICIALLY the dev's have to say no modding etc so as to cover their asses legally of course but that being said they've never really taken any siginficant action at all against those who mod the game for cosmetic reasons as they know that those doing so aren't actually damaging the game if anything they're just enjoying it. It's why the unwritten rule is usually that dev's wont act on mods so long as they aren't used to impact core gameplay experience of other players.

To be fair those who wont spend are usually those who wouldnt buy anyways to begin with and the mod's would only be visible to themselves. People buy the costumes not just to support the game or because they like the costumes but because they want everyone to see their character in the said costume so it's a moot point there.

You are blowing how much I care entirely out of proportion. It annoys me, not torments me.

I don't use mods, but being completely honest there's a single one that constantly tempts me....male highlander eyebrows. The face paint is not good enough >.>

Looks more that this not just annoys you but whatever.

The fact alone that this annoys you is hilarious. Why do you care how others see you on their screens? Does it affect your gameplay or how you see your glamour? Nope not for one second.

You are having a hysterical fit over wording that for some reason insinuates I think about this day and night. Players communicate, some of which involve screenshot sharing. And what do I see? Invisible hands, open chest where there is none, funky facial structure, and in one case wrong hair color.

I think it's great you are so easily amused, must make life overall more simple. But really, you are blowing something insignificant into something falsely major.

The way others see you informs their opinion of you, and therefore influences how they interact with you. So, in an online multiplayer game, it actually does affect your gameplay. In addition, some people use their character and/or glamour as a form of self-expression, akin to an artwork. Having that changed outside their control alters whatever they wanted to express and thus annuls the effort they put into it.

It'd be hard to prove one is using that or pre-processing filters.
They are against rules for photo contests but SE ignores that rule it seems since like 4 out of top 5 area always modified photos which is a shame.

I don't really like mods because people post photos of me in outfit I picked and it looks horrible and gross on their screen.
