Moonfire Faire Jump Tower

I'm really happy that the Moonfire Faire Jump Tower returned this year, I think it's really fun and frustrating at the same time. As well as being a good way to pass time.

This year they added the mount prevention debuff, which is a really nice addition because it was already hard enough to see the small pins, especially with all players trying to get up.

However, there is still one more thing that I would've loved to see added in addition to the mount prevention...

And that would be a Silence debeff, which would prevent players from using spells and actions.

This would be to prevent griefing with spell spamming and cheating with the Blue Mage --Self Destruct--> Healer Combo.

And yes, I know you can turn off spell effects in the settings, but there is still the sound and animations which can be annoying when you are trying to jump to a small pin where 5+ Blue/Healers are standing on constantly spamming spells.


I think this would make the tower even more enjoyable and fair over all.
Any thoughts?

They have already added the mount prevention zone which is like 90% of the work. All they would have to do is add an additional effect to the already existing zone.
Why bother? Well, because it's a fun challenge?

The debuffs already exists in the game. They would just need to add it to the code to apply it as you entered the area. I bet it could be done in less than 10 minutes.

Meh. I won't lie I was annoyed slightly about the mount thing. Only Because I have a friend who is terrible at jump puzzles. Not that I am any better ( I hate you kugane tower I have yet to climb!)

So Last year I used my wedding chocobo to get her to the top. I felt bad for being in the way but it was only once I never lingered. I don't have any issues with the self destruct > Rez combo either. Some folks are really bad at the jumping! If I could get rezed to the top of Kugane tower I would in a skinny minute!

It kinda spoils the challenge for the people who doesn't cheat. Not only because of the self destruct spell spamming, but also because getting to the top won't feel as rewarding if people can get up there without doing the challenge.

Isn't the point to challenge yourself? Or at least that's how it seems to me. That being the case it should still be rewarding for you regardless of how others do it. You even get better bragging rights "I did so n so with out any cheats"

If you mean others may not feel the same sense of reward as you did well..respectfully that is not for you to deiced.

I felt the no mount thing was more to stop people being from being obnoxious and sitting on the steps with a giant mount and less about cheating.

Yes, the point is to challenge yourself, but it feels way less rewarding for struggling non-cheaters to get to the top when they get passed/accompanied by a bunch of Self Destructing Blue Mages.

And the "no mount thing" was indeed made to prevent griefing. Never claimed anything else.

Climbing Kugane tower and doing the light jump at the end was the reception at my EB ceremony.

We both made it to the top without needing it and only needed 3 combined uses for the jump off. Was enjoyable.
