I have been getting this error at random since the release of the FFXV collab event. It happens when I try to load into a zone. I can hear the sounds that one would normally hear on a successful load in but the Loading screen still shows. It stays on for an obnoxiously long time and will either load me in or will crash the whole game with the error pictured above. I have to try logging in over and over until eventually it just works and lets me in. I can log into an alt character on the same account just fine.
I did try reinstalling the game and testing different graphic settings with no luck. I also have the latest gpu driver installed.

I deleted the whole folder for Final Fantasy XIV under documents and reinstalled the entire game this morning. I was able to play for a few hours before the error started again. I tried to log my alt in and it crashed too.

You mentioned that you were able to play for a few hours before it crashed again after deleting all FFXIV files. When it did crash, what exactly were you doing? Did it crash during a load screen again, or just while playing the game?

You may want to try a clean boot. Simply open the task manager and select the 'Start up' tab. Disable everything here and restart the PC. This will make sure that no background processes are interfering with the game.

Make sure to disable any overlays (Geforce Experience, Discord Overlay, etc.) that might be present as well.

If you switch to DirectX 9 mode in the Config menu of the Launcher, does the same error occur?

The issue occurs primarily when loading into a different zone via teleport. I found out that cancelling a teleport (via walking mid cast) can also cause the issue. I feel it may be an error linked to teleporting but it still does not occur every time. I have crashed on loading into Shirogane, Kugane, the Lochs, Old Gridania, and Central Thanalan.

I tried the clean boot as suggested, my pc actually has all startup processes disabled already as I dislike a bunch of programs coming on all at once. I was able to play without issue for a couple days until today. I crashed with the same error on trying to load into Shirogane from Kugane. After a few hours I tried logging in again and crashed upon attempting to load both my main character and alt character. Turning on/off DX9 mode still resulted in crashes. I did however find that loading my character on a separate PC, logging off, and loading on my pc allows me to login with no error...even in the same area (Loaded into fc plot in Shirogane and walked a couple steps before switching pcs) Hopefully something here may give insight into the cause of the error. I have talked to several others who are experiencing this exact error since the XV crossover started. It is quite discouraging to be interrupted in my gameplay by this but I enjoy the game and hope a solution can be found soon.

If you have no issues on a second computer, then the issue stems from something localized on your main computer. Unfortunately, that doesn't narrow it down too much. As such, there are a few things I'd like to suggest:

1) If you have more than one hard drive, try moving the install folder (or reinstalling) onto another drive.

2) Try making an exception on your anti-virus for the install folder and the FFXIV folder in 'My Documents'.

3) Disable any overlays you have, such as Nvidia Geforce Experience. (I mentioned this in the last post, but I'm not sure you responded to that)

4) Try setting the game's compatibility to Windows 7. Right-click on the ffxivboot.exe file and select ‘Properties.’ Then select the ‘Compatibility’ tab and choose Windows 7.

Sorry for the long delay in response, it started working again with disabling the Nvidia Geforce; which is a pain because it wants to continuously restart itself and I crashed numerous times before uninstalling it. I am still crashing even after restarting my pc, so back to square one. As far as the exceptions go, I have selected all options for FFXIV under windows defender and will see how it works. I originally had XIV on my SSD but after fully resetting my pc I installed to my HDD because I did not have room on my SSD for any further updates/patches. If all else fails I may consider purchasing a larger SSD and moving my install onto it in the future. I will see how things go for the next few days and if I still have crashing I will test the compatibility mode.
