The #1 thing that will get me to commend DPS is using their role actions effectively and doing mechanics. Yes damage is their primary role, but let's be honest, I shouldn't need to run a 3rd party tool to tell which of the two DPS are doing their job properly, and I usually have better things to do than watch their actions like a hawk to piece together whether they're doing their rotation properly or not. Still, using role actions and performing mechanics is not only more visible, it also shows they are trying and dedicated to doing what needs to be done for the good of their party. It's probably fair to say their DPS isn't that bad either, since if you care about the party you're probably more committed to making this a fast run than most of the DPS who pick the role to stay out of the spotlight.

I absolutely 100% play DPS to stay about of the spotlight. I do my ROT well and pay attention to mechanics, but I don't want to tank and have that responsibility nor do I want to heal and have the lives of every party member on me. I play for fun and the story. The dungeon runs are just a necessity and I want to get in and out and be done with it.
