Special DPS get my comm. I usually default to the tank (I am a healer main), but if the DPS makes me happy (usually by feeding me mana) they get the comm. It's so rare that I see it that it always majorly stands out when I do.

I commend the other dps if i notice they're using their aggro tools, avoiding mechanics, or using AOE on trash (surprisingly, alot of dps don't for some reason? even if the tanks doing big pulls)
If the dps was better than what i usualy get in the DF means: The other dps used AOE's properly, used emnity controll skills properly, used support skills properly, deals dmg etc.I've seen posts in Reddit an these forums of DPS players claiming they would usually or always commend the other dps. However, when I tank or heal, I usually get more than one commendation. So that leaves one dps without a commendation, especially during times when all party members have contributed to exceptionally wonderful dungeon/trial runs.
So I present this question to you, especially DPS mains:
What conditions would you normally commend other DPS players after you clear the instance?
That goes for every class. Did you play good? You'll get my commendation doesn't matter what role. But it honestly rarely happens that i give a commendation...
I generally comm the tank, because they're on top of the list. However, I will absolutely comm any dps that uses the LB instead of wasting it. Honestly, I wish I could take comms away from DPS that go entire runs without ever touching the LB guage. Such a waste!
Lucky for you, apparently I get commended the most when I am playing DPS. When I play tank or healer, and save the group or perform the best I've ever done I get none, and when I am sitting around half paying attention I get 2-3 commendations. Makes literally no sense.I've seen posts in Reddit an these forums of DPS players claiming they would usually or always commend the other dps. I commend a sprout of any type if I see it, someone who saved the group regardless of class, or just randomly pick a name when I can't choose.
WHM | RDM | DNC
I give my commendation to the most interesting person in the party.
i only comm DPS cause DPS while I feel is the most important role in the party, and since you WILL notice if you have good or bad ones. Plus with the way DPS are treated I'll always comm the DPS. Monks get extra love cause I love monk.
Although I'm not a DPS main. A dungeon run that takes 13 minutes or less is an automatic comm to the DPS.
Might still comm someone for various other reasons, but that basically guarantees it.
I comm DPS if the other dps doing their job properly, simple because they might be the most play role, yet, they are the most under appreciated roleI've seen posts in Reddit an these forums of DPS players claiming they would usually or always commend the other dps. recent experience:
my RDM got O1N from raid roulette, half the teams are first timer, one of them is a SCH, dying to almost everysingle AOE, I personally res her 4 times, give other heal mana shift a lot of times, help healing when that SCH just got res by me and recovering SP. I dodge everysingle possible AOE, use diversion before my burst. Pop Addle and Embolden, not a single comm after the fight. I dont even want to mention my NIN where I keep Goad, Smoke screen and shadewalker pop at the right time yet still no appreciation.
Switch to my WAR and got through into a Trial I dont remember and got hit by a few avoidable AOE, standard rotation and cool down, easily 3 comms. I can get more comm with half a brain as tank than doing 120% effort in my DPS. This is what happen in most of the DF run

I commend dps if they do a good job.
For example if i am playing healer and the caster mana shifts me multiple times. That automatically gets my commendation because almost no dps does it.
Also when i see dps using goad or bard/mch using refresh.
