Commending DPS

I pretty much always commend another bard lala. Is it shallow? Sure. Still do it though :P

Please do, please do. :3 Though you don't too often meet the same dps class in a dungeon.

If I do commend, it's pretty varied. I try seeing if the dps deserved it but more often than not people either die to every mechanic ever, attack random mobs in a group just to annoy the tank or neither use aoe nor goad/songs. (Seriously, the amount of Bards not using ANY song is disturbing. Not even refresh/tact but any song.)
So it usually either falls to the sprout healer who did a fine job healing those packs, or to the tank who did a good job pulling efficiently and saving us time.

Overall I think I mostly give it to sprouts to encourage them! And there are a lot lately.

I commend either for heroic feats like saves, or perfectionist runs with unusually high dps AND not failing a single mechanic. Both rather rare so the commendation usually goes to waste.

Usually, I just give it to whoever annoys me the least. Fellow lalas get priority preference, but that's not a guaranteed commendation.

On that note, I kinda wish we had more commendation rewards.

This kinda topic appears every now and then, but my answer is still the same:
When everything goes fine, everyone done the job and usually tank-healer and dps-dps reciprocal commends is the fair thing.
I switch to someone else when something did happened. And no commend on some cases.

Definitely something I've commed a DPS for, even though it should be expected. The number of people who just single target is outrageous, to say nothing of the fact that Goad may as well not exist for as often as people use it in dungeons.

High aggro doesn't mean high DPS. One point of being a good DPS means aggro management to make it easier for the tank to be in DPS stance.

I comment a DPS if:

he/she
- uses Goat/TP Song/Mana song without the need to remind them
- does AE when it's needed
- helps raising
- uses their abilitys (for example BRD songs, DMG Buffs)

Fully aware, I'm just simple and not pretending that I see everything that another dps is doing at all times

To me, this is still a viable indication that unless they steal aggro from the tank, they're doing alright.

Truth be told, I play in a group of 3 or 4 most of the time and the spare person gets the commendation, whatever role they are, provided they didn't mess up.
