I'm new to the game, and was very excited when our small FC got access to purchase land...until I realised that even on normal pop servers it's rare to even see a plot for sale, and when you do, you can sit for hours spam-clicking, scared to leave because it could be any second. I'm currently pushing into hour 7 on this plot, mostly alone, and will still be unlikely to win it, like has happened on other plots before. It's demoralising to sacrifice sleep, fun, and actually playing the game for hours on end to get only wrist pain and a chat log full of red.

Better options:
* Hidden timer before it goes on sale, but once it's for sale it is actually for damn sale!
* Hidden timer like now, but it's marked as in escrow rather than for sale: you click once, cite interest, and once escrow ends, it's raffled between interested parties, or if escrow ends with no sale, put it up for sale and start your devaluation timer.
* Set update times combined with the current random timer, so whilst you don't know if that hellish timer is going to be one hour or one day, you know it'll only change status on the top of the hour, so you can go and spend 59 mins doing, I dunno, actually fun stuff.

Additionally, the relocation thing is complicated, because so many people are forced into taking plots that'll do, so they should have the option to upgrade, but not at the expense of those still trying to get in on their first plot. Relocation has to be subject to the same rules as new buys. Currently, folk are forced to take any small plot they can find and then wait on their preferred plot, as it's impossible to get the more desirable plots unless via relocation, which not only costs more, but means folk are hogging the less desirable plots as a temporary base, where they could be being actually used by players who are less fussy about location. Also, set a cooldown on relocating, say 45 days after purchase you have the option to relocate, but before that you cannot. That should make it less enticing to lock yourself/your FC into a plot as you may miss that plot you were holding out for. If you're looking for a small plot to use until you can afford to upgrade, it still works, but if you're just grabbing something to timer-skip, you shoot yourself in the foot.

Being honest, if it wasn't for my friends playing, this experience would have driven me away from the game. I just cannot comprehend why a game developer would want you to be unable to play the game for hours/days/weeks, trapped click-spamming and growing increasingly disenchanted with the game. And it's not the lack of availability - scarcity of desirable resources is fine - it's the timer and the way it requires you to game the system to bypass it.
