because I know I won't enjoy it and it'll just be me worked up into a ball of stress from tanking in dungeons I've never been in.

I'm not going to mince my words, right off the bat that's just the wrong attitude to have. What do you expect to happen as soon as Shadow Bringers is released and you have to go into dungeons you've never been in? You've already responded to someone telling you to try a different role with "It feels like giving up" if you go in with anything else, so are you expecting some magical leprechaun to materialize and tank the dungeon for you?

Instead of approaching dungeons or instances you've never been in being 'tired of people and their attitudes', maybe you should take some time to reflect on your own attitude. Because I hate to be the one that blows the candles out on your cake before you make a wish but that leprechaun ain't coming, and Shadow Bringers certainly is.

Honestly, it’s fairly rare for me to get any dungeon where people start copping attitudes. If you don’t feel comfortable tanking, you can go on another role—that’s not “giving up”, it’s simply doing the content on a job that you feel more comfortable on. I don’t like tanking (I really only tank 24-mans or 8-mans with friends if I can be the OT because I’m a really, really bad MT), but if I can do it, I think you can do it, too!

Likewise, I ran Shisui with a friend on their alt today for story, and I went on SMN—a job I can barely play past a level 60 level, but I wanted to try it out again because I was bored. Still managed to AOE stuff down fast enough for the tank and my friend on healer, so no big deal.

Like some others have said, i would have to agree.

Things won't be magically different in Shadowbringers.

Yes they are introducing the trust system, but it'll probably be for the few dungeons from 71-80.

That being said, going in with a positive attitude would be a good thing. I feel like you have this doom and gloom attitude, waiting to be set off by any little thing.

That may or may not be true, but that is how i am seeing it at least.

The only way to get better at tanking is to tank with randoms. They will do things you probably wouldn't expect, whether it is good or bad. It is a good way to learn.

I'm sure not everyone you meet in duty finder is a jerk.I have been playing this game for long time, and i only have a whopping total of 7 people on my blacklist. I'd have a lot more if i blacklisted bot spammers, but i just report and carry on my business.

If tanking is too much stress, then play something else. My tank is fully geared but i don't play it for serious content like raiding. I dps for those things.

There isn't anything pay 2 win about skip potions.

Okay you skip the grind, but it doesn't make you a better player.

Using a skip potion doesn't automatically give someone an advantage over someone else.

It is not difficult to level with all the different ways now such as POTD, Squadron missions, duty roulettes, HoH.


TL;DR skip potions don't give an advantage, you just skip the grind.

i waited 2 years for stormblood skip , no issues here ,maybe its for all those weirdos that dont really find any joy in hundred of hours spent going from npc A to npc B xD.

The only problem i have with the main story, is that content is locked behind it.

When i first started playing i played on a preferred world. I had a lvl 70 before i even got to Heavensward.

Somedays i just did roulette and nothing else, so i just leveled very quickly.

But being at 70 i literally couldn't do anything end game related because it was all locked behind MSQ.

That is my one of my biggest gripes with the game, that and the terrible housing system.
