Agreed, since most players want unique glamour for each job. I prefer
a more mystical outfit for AST, something regal for WHM, and I like my military outfit for SCH. Speaking of which I hope the new AF gear is more military themed again, the SB set looked more like a librarian; and the HW one was nice, but just felt minorly underwhelming.

Not really, It took a few overhauls to be what it is now and it's still not as good as others.

RiFT is the most versatile and easiest to use I know of. The biggest downside is probably the fact that you have to pay to unlock "plates" (not sure what the game calls them) either a large amount of Plat or the whatever the cash shop currency was iirc. Also the art style of Rift is an "acquired" taste.

True Rift is the only one I can think of that is better. But does have limitations and also rifts graphics have not aged as well as WoW has. Been no major graphical update and the gameplay is comparable. I used to play Rift hardcore around the time of the first expansion. But eventually quit.

Also I could be wrong but did rift have account bound wardrobe like WoW?

Add this to the list of odd things FFXIV can't do that every other MMORPG can...

If other games have no such limit at all then it's possible to do, this is purely due to their inadequacy on the server/coding side which can be resolved. That's just to keep it simple, if the stress put on the servers is more then the solution is obvious.

Provide excuses for SE if you want to, it's harder for blizzard to work with a game from 2005 with ancient code than the reverse.

Once again, older does not equal more difficult. Especially if it was well written. Saying "if this game can do it, so can this one, just as easily" is false logic. They're built different and have different limitations. It's not an excuse, they have the capability to fix the problem of course, but is the playerbase ready for what it costs?

WoW's code was not well written. It was spaghetti code. The things they did back then to make things work were nonsensical at best and don't compute with modern gaming development. And they made it work. Stop making excuses for them. They're a big girl company, they can handle it. They're one of the few mmos to still be sub only and has a pretty big store, and a premium sub service for extra bank storage. Financial reasons are excusable either. I love FFXIV. And other than the long GCD this is my biggest gripe with it.
