It might be hard for me to find a source given it was one line of dialogue in the fanfest and it wasn't written on any of the slides. It could take me hours to find that tiny snippet. But I can tell you I saw it for myself and it was Koji Fox who said it. It was during a series of lines that were like "players have been saying 'we love Ishgard, we want to be in Ishgard, we want to <insert dramatic pause> live in Ishgard'" /crowd goes wild.

And that was all that was said about it. I seriously doubt they would tease that if they weren't planning something.

While there are people like that, there are others who just want any house at all. Though leaving your server could be an option, I feel like people shouldn't be expected to leave just so they can engage in some content. This can be an especially difficult decision for people who want to remain with their fc. It's really crappy that people have to choose between their fc and a house. Then there's also the fact that transfers cost money. Yes recently we have had free transfers but they won't be around forever. The gil cap on paid transfers is another thing that turns people off from moving.

I'm on cerberus and I would gladly transfer to Omega if it didn't come with all its limitations:
- Can't transfer more than 10M gil (I'd lose 50M on transfer)
- Have to withdraw every single item from currently hold housing instances (I don't have any space left. Retainers are almost full, I have 20 free slots in my bag and more than 350 furniture items, of which 150 items worth something like 40M) and there is no NPC temporarily holding on your stuff like when your house is demolished. For all these items I'd need to hire 3 retainers on top of the server transfer charge.
- I'd lose the FC I've worked to create and rank up in a poof

There is too much to lose, too much to pay and too much to work back. It is just heavily discouraged. The more you have obtained, the more you have to lose on transfer.

Ishgard reminds me of Windhelm from skyrim. I loved that town, I had my main base there. Going out to look at the grayness, snow, freezing orphans outside, mysterious homicides, it was the best atmosphere for me. I'd be the first to relocate to Ishgard subdivision
