Suggestion: Cross data center party finder / duty finder

Is it possible to have the party finder and duty finder linked per region? Since the data center split earlier this week with the NA now having 3 data centers the player base is more divided up now. Stuff like 24 player raids, pvp are taking even longer to queue for.

Party finders are also taking longer to fill. Its taking about an hour or more to fill a dog farm for an ex primal for example.

Is there anyway for SE to link the data centers together to reduce the amount of time waiting in PF and DF for queues?

SE is expecting a spur of new players and returners once Shadowbringers hits so I would ask that you wait until then. Right now many of my fc members are breaking from the game as they too are waiting for shadow bringers so it's on the slower end on my side. Basically, it sucks right now but really I think it will get better once patch rolls around. I know that's a while from now but people that are playing now are just experiencing the world visitation waters on where they want to transfer and where they want to be. I shrug but hopefully once it settles they'll be some changes.

No please I left my previous data center to avoid certain types of people that I encountered there, and I'd like them to stay there. I don't want to encounter them again.

Also, as for queues: I have not experienced any increase in wait times, even at like 2am MDT. I think it's just you.

Aren't the regional data centers potentially right next to each other in a server room? I do remember all the NA ones are housed at the same location, so I can't imagine the same isn't true for Asia and Europe? If they found a way to make it work without having everything crash and burn into an inferno I'd be down for it.

Edit: Please note I'm not familiar with server tech so if this isn't possible by all means please correct me. I just remember someone postulating the last time this was brought up that it might be possible but my memory has more holes in it than a block of swiss cheese.

A huge burst of people mainly came back for free transfers or the FFXV crossover event. There's gonna be a big wave of people again once the Make it Rain Campaign comes out soon enough (It's always in May/June before the next expac to get more of a crowd back), so just ride out the lul. Maybe look for anyone who had a discord group or something to better organize this kind of content you're looking for?

And like it was said, being able to play with other data centers would kind of get rid of the need for data centers, just let them focus on the world visit system and get that all settled before even attempting to think about that.

I didn't notice any queues being slower on my side since I got on Zodiark. I don't know how it is on Chaos now thought, nor can I speak for the NA side of the servers.

But I do believe that people are taking breaks from the game now that Shadowbringers is coming out soon. I'd suggest to wait.

As someone said, some people changed Data Centers to get rid of other people they did not want to randomly meet in duty finder, and I am one of them. So I'd rather not have this implemented to be honest.

Plus, there are sometimes characters of the same name, I know they could just 'not be able to fall in the same group' but still. It could be an issue.

Don't actually know SE's server architecture but my best guess would be is that each "data center" is a server rack with 3-4 blade servers (which each blade is a server itself and a blade server can have 2 to 4 blades sometimes more) with the rest of the slots in the rack filled in with routers and switches. For all we know each "data center" could be 3 server racks standing right next to one another.

Like I said, dunno how SE actually has their servers set up. Just some free association and speculation.

I don't really have problems with qeues on Chaos (EU) but well, I'm tank, so bad example for the statistic.

If making cross-DC communication is technically possible and will not cause incsreasing load on DCs then I'm up for it.
