you do understand that youre advocating physically harming someone over a movie? like thats what you said "pain is usually easier to remember in the future so they dont do it again"I've feeling that quite often people don't shoot others just because of spoilers, most of the time it's followed by needless taunting by that person.
Throwing joke lines like "It's just a movie, bro!" after other persons day has been ruined by their selfish actions, is just fuel for the flames. Tho, I don't agree with shooting others over it, but slight pain is usually easier to remember in future when attempting to repeat it with next movie spoilers.
Quite many people were unable to go and see the movie as it decided to air in middle of week - and heck, even I haven't seen it yet, waiting for DVD/Blu-Ray release.
like wow.
saying someone has no empathy in response to someone saying that "its not a big deal and youre taking it to sediously" is the context here. and its straight up silly. further context someone also in this thread just said "physically harming someone cause they spoiled a movie for you is fine." so like... yeeshits irrelevant if its a movie the point is, someone is going out of thier way to disrespect your wishes. Accidents are accidents, but someone willingly going out of their way to cause you grief is another.
Do you understand why griefing is a thing? Its the same concept of spoilers.
The other thing that makes no sense is people saying you should expect and allow anything on the internet. That has never been the case, every community has always made and enforced rules. Mostly against jerk behavior.

Yeah, go and twist my words then - just mostly remarking that parents used to spank their children if/when they acted wrongfully.
I've read even about cases where people have rushed into cinemas, with sole intention of yelling spoilers in front of those who were about to watch said movie. So it's easy to see why people would get angry.
in a different post i literally quoted what you said. and morallity about hitting children who cant feasibly fight back aside, random strangers in a cinema are not your children. so whether you feel some type of way or not about a movie, you shouldnt be putting your hands on people over it.Yeah, go and twist my words then - just mostly remarking that parents used to spank their children if/when they acted wrongfully.

and i've seen people get jumped over discussing it with their group as they were leaving the theater. so whats your point?
its not that it is fine, it shows that this type of thing, is in fact something that leads to conflict, and not just on the internet.saying someone has no empathy in response to someone saying that "its not a big deal and youre taking it to sediously" is the context here. and its straight up silly. further context someone also in this thread just said "physically harming someone cause they spoiled a movie for you is fine." so like... yeesh
If you are saying, how can anybody get upset about this, i think you are not really understanding people. If people get hurt, attacked, or feel like something was taken from them, many will demand some type of justice.
It is unrealistic to think you can say anything to anyone and expect that no one will react. Irl, there is an understanding, there is a limit on how much you can mess with a person before rightly, or wrongly there is a response. Thats just reality. On the internet, communities, gms etc have to do this. Otherwise the community is dominated by the people who are the most vocal and bold.
What is the proper response to someone going out of their way to ruin your enjoyment of something? What would be a fair response to you buying a book, and some one ripping out half the pages, for no reason other than to enjoy your unhappiness?
There are people who enjoy (reading) spoilers, there are people who don't like being spoiled.
There are studies that show that spoilers increase enjoyment (on certain type of media/genre), there are studies that show spoilers decrease enjoyment (on certain type of media/genre).
Going by the last statement, being spoiled Avengers Endgame is more likely to be positive then negative. Good luck with reports.
Calling others "Kids" surely makes your argument more valid...oh wait no it doesn't. It just shows that you can't accept the opinion of other people and you have to insult them. You obviously don't know these movies or the comics they are based on. They don't follow any specific comic storyline. Again you confirm what I said. Just because you don't care about something you can just dismiss someone else as not counting. Kids like you got a lot to learn.
Sanctify is completly right. People are way to thinskinned and want to report everyone for every little thing they do just because they don't like it. Get over yourselfs, you are all not that important.
I mean, I got reported for "stalking" a girl in Odin by her and 10+ of her friends. All this because I was afking in Limsa, then went changing hair and she was there asking my FC officer to kick me out from the FC (Refusing psychos is bad i guess).
Did I got ban? No, apparently made up stuff aren't reportable(Seriously, who even wanna stalk a psycho lmao).
Reports that aren't actionable are just a way to flood GM's work. Ban for a movie spoiler? You gotta be sick as that girl if you think that gonna get someone who bought all three expansions + subs every month gonna get ban for it.
ToS are to be interpreted objectively not what player thinks its offensive. Spoiling isn't an action against you, sure if he'd were to spam/tell you about it after you have said properly that you don't want to hear/read spoilers that would be another situation.
If we were to report anything "I feel offended by" this game would have less than half population it has now.
I find the 0dps healers, tanks that fight each other aggro every 24 man i join or the ones that doesn't pop a cd ever and dps that doesn't hit positional and/or don't follow a rotation. Are a far bigger threat to a better gaming experience community wise, but then again.
According to most of you in this thread I should report them because I feel offended by them. But to me it sounds dumb. Chances are I wont see them in game anymore and even if they do, they're people i don't hang with so it's not like i'm playing with them regularly, same with your guy, you wont' meet him again..
Grow up from being a whinebaby, sure, he could have avoided it. But its not that big deal.
