add Random stat rolls to in game drops

You don't really have much choice though. If theres 10 ilvls between them you've pretty much gotta go for the higher one.

If crafted items could come out with either Crit, Det or SpS, then when buying crafted gear at least you'd have a choice.

We are going to have to disagree on that. Having experience with games that randomize stats, it limits your gearing ability, not vice versa.
