Oh wait, you can't because pretty much everyone left the game because of randomized stats on gear...

Mostly, because while it sounds fun in paper... In practice you end up facing like 0.01% chance to get the item you want, with the stats you want, with the slots you want, with the tertiary stats you want, that's Titanforged... Etc.

Honestly, I'd much rather have "Blank" items that you fill the stats in yourself via Materia. Then you get to alter your own items stats instead of playing with RNG. Also, you get to use some of the 10 billion Materia the game throws at you these days which would be cool...
lol wows gear itself is better than ffxivs it just takes effort and time to get what you need. wows proplem is the jobs themself are so unbalanced but gear wise it was perfect.

while yes you can get horrible stats on a piece but you could also get godly stats its a double edge that is worth it

It is not. It is nigh unanimously agreed that WoW's itemization was/is horrible.

Because it makes getting loot you care about, so much more difficult.

And no, it is not worth it. If you got the perfect rolls on your gear, it didn't feel satisfying. Since, you don't feel you've earned it, because you likely got through hundreds of other variants of the exact same item just with crappier stats.

It also exponentially increases the effort needed to get geared up.

In addition, you mentioned crafted items rolling random stats... Imaging how that will go down, you go through all the effort to get your crafting class up to max level, getting the gear to actually craft the good items and then go through the effort of grinding out all the materials and then go to make some stuff to sell... And you get shit rolls and have spent a lot of time and resources to make garbage no-one wants to buy because RNG gave it bad stats.

Imagine the uproar from the raiding community trying to be world first and couldn't because of horrible stats.

We don't want another black desert online, where the RNG is so bad even their ban waves were RNG LOL.
