Just in case there are scenarios with 3 platforms or 3 rooms, each with a separate boss, where certain mechanics have to occur in sync. It could just break the whole thing if there is not at least one person in each room or on each platform to aggro.

Basically this. Without 3 individuals in the raid, you’d be unable to progress in some of them (e.g., LotA, WoD).

Yes, LotA specifically would need more than just 3 people. WoD would only need 3 minimum, though.

It also has an enrage timer (so you can't get stuck if parties are distributed wrong and can't kill one of the Atomos).

Exactly, they can’t make this work with less than 5 people unless they want people to totally faceroll it even more when they get it for roullete

5 per party for 15 total. Since there's no way to jump between the platforms, even if you killed 1, the other two would enrage and Daddy Iron Giant would come to play.
