Can you blacklist people from other worlds if you haven't encountered them yet?

Long story short, there's someone who's now on the same data center as me that I would like to avoid and never see them talk ever. I know blacklist doesn't prevent you from being in duties with someone, but I don't want them to be able to communicate with me.

Now that the world visit system is in place, is there any way to blacklist them by visiting their world? I tested it with the player search but there was no blacklist option.

Try going to their server, and manually add the name to the blacklist. Or check if you can pick the name from the chat and blacklist.

Unfortunately I've heard that manually adding people hasn't worked since they added the whole 'home world' thing a few months ago. And since I'm specifically trying to avoid them at all costs and we don't currently associate, I have no way to blacklist them via chat.

I don't believe there is a way, now. I tried myself. It seems you have to have them in your contact list to blacklist them... So either get in a party with them or be 'lucky' enough to end in a duty with them so you can blacklist afterwards.

That is strange you should be able to blacklist characters of the same Data Center only.

I guess I'll just have to wait to be 'lucky' enough to encounter them in order to blacklist them. Kind of dumb how blacklisting people is even harder now that there's more people to blacklist. :/

Then they reply with whatever, and you go gotcha! /blacklist!

That is correct. Only the /tell command is allowed to target players by name. All other slash commands must have a valid target tag.

And since I'm specifically trying to avoid them at all costs and we don't currently associate, I have no way to blacklist them via chat.

It's unfortunate that it needs to come to absurd workarounds like this, but here is an absurd workaround.
If you have a friend who can target the person for you, you can target your friend, then

/blist add <tt>

This at least allows you to do it more discreetly.
Other than that, you have to be able to target the other person yourself or you have to wait for them to say something in a chat channel that you can see.
