Will Search Systems be Updated?

I don't recall this being mentioned, and feel free to swoop in and flame me if I am mistaken.

With the implementation of the Job system, will the Party Search and Player Search systems be updated to match?

Sure I know most will say "no one uses it," and rightfully so. Those that do however find the system quite useful. I don't use it often either as I tend to do most things in our LS, but it's nice to have options for those occasions where there's not a large amount of players online. I hope SE took the time to bring this up to date with the debut of jobs, and we are not forced to wait nearly 3 months for this to be added.

I think it will be updated to fit the new content and jobs, it would make sense, otherwise you'd have an partially useless system.

SE needs to continually update this feature until it's where it needs to be. I try and promote it when forming PTs. I usually tell people to join through the Search Function instead of just inviting them. Most of the time I have to explain to people how to use it. Help people come together SE!

Jobs I think are hopefully going to be for party play (from what I gather thus far from reading).

So... one would hope that they upgrade it, only time will tell!

I agree, bring back /sea all <whatever> .. this was so handy in XI, especially when seeing if someone was online fast. /sea all <persons name>

I vaguely recall hearing that there would be a text command for Search in 1.21...

i think the search/party system is still a fail, not too much people use it, so few use it. I think if it isnt better to add a global channel so we can shout looking for party o members and players around eorzea can read it. People uses to shout in uldah but not everyone is there.

Please, add a global chat channel to look for party or members, it will be faster and maybe(?) easier to develop than still working on an UI feature that almost noone uses.

I am still waiting for them to remove the old party menu (Recruit/Search) it no longer needs to be in the game.

As I requested in the Interface sub forum they need to make a tutorial for players when using the "search" menu, many new and old players don't know its there or even how to use it properly.

Funny you say that, I join parties using Party Search more than I use Player Search.

because player search is a tool to look for members (i dont care if you can see players in party too, i dont know what are they doing) and party to join existing parties? party UI needs a remake is the matter.
