    More transparency on reports.

Just wanted to voice a concern about the state of reporting in general.

I absolutely feel we should be able to see the impact of our reports, even if it's a simple "your report resulted in ... punishment". Ive seen many people trivialize reporting simply because we dont get the closure to this feedback loop. With the massive number of players and the fact that it is unlikely to be repeatedly matched with the same bad actors I see the concern that some 'lesser' actions may be let to skate by simply because the odds of you running into that person again are highly unlikely and the GM may have seen it as an isolated incident. But with the transparency the GM could put in something to the extent that "this appeared to be a one time occurrence for this player" or something to that extent.

Simply put, transparency would increase faith that the rules are actually being implemented as well as clarify what does and does not qualify for the reports and on what grounds. After all, the best way to avoid breaking the rules is to know what they are.

Sometimes you get a general idea of what's going to happen based on what they say. I reported someone a few weeks ago and in their reply they said they received multiple reports about the "same issue" or something to that effect, and based on that person's page on the Lodestone it doesn't seem like they've played at all since then. Maybe it's a coincidence, but I was satisfied with what I think the results are.

But I think it's a liability issue or some other specific reason why they can't tell us the result. But no evidence of the desired result shouldn't stop people from submitting reports. I do it any time I feel like it's a serious enough offense (if someone is being obnoxious or trolling I'll give them a strike in my mind and if they do it again I report them), because someone has to. And I know if I don't report them then definitely nothing will happen.

    I strongly agree.

Whenever I reported players in WoW, the GMs would always respond and tell me whether or not action was taken, and if action wasn't taken, they'd actually specify why in the case of certain offenses, such as botting (In which cases I was able to eventually get them purged with follow-up reports specifying additonal details).

i agree, i've been cursed, mocked, seen people troll, attempt to kill others and so on. not a single time i got to know if that person got any punishment and i would feel a lot more relieved if i knew if they got at least a warning.

i mean i'd like to see a report saying "your report resulted in action being taken" but I can't see it happening for A) privacy reasons, and B) wastes time by having to write said report.

the report would be automatic and discreet, "your report number X has brought results" or something like that, and we would know that it would mean a warning, a suspension or expulsion.
i think that would keep the privacy for the user penalized and bring some satisfaction to the person reporting
