Square Enix forced us to move by turning our server into an RP server and moving the node it was on. Now the years (yes plural) worth of playtime and work that we have accumulated are all for nothing because we get ousted and have no house anymore. The girlfriend has spent months farming specific things to get items to furnish the house and was forced to pack it all up because SQEX decided to screw us over.

She's ready to quit the game altogether because of this nonsense. They could easily alleviate this or have planned it better. I am an IT professional for a fortune 500 and this is the most half baked, unplanned thing I have ever seen from a supposed professional company.

Apartments, for whatever reason cannot store the outdoor stuff so that leaves 95% of the items still consuming inventory space.

I want to know who at SQEX gets the medical bill for the carpal tunnel when she is done spamming trying to get one of these timer houses.

This is false, just because its on the same data center as unofficial rp servers, you make it seem like people who rp only play the game to do so. They also do content, quite regularly. You leaving and transferring was your own choice, nobody else's, don't push the blame on Square... as much as I hate to defend their choice, it want their fault you left your house.

If you knew enough about the housing system you would know that there is a great risk of being unable to find a plot on your new home server, and that if you left a house behind the likelihood of you having to store furniture on retainers for a long time would be pretty high. Sorry but if you are such a professional in IT, then why didn't you do any research before moving?

The system is awful, I agree. But it seems like you didn't do your homework before transferring so you ended up making your situation worse by not informing yourself enough.

Have you played with some of these hard core role players? They don't understand that most of us have real lives to live and don't want someone spamming only one spell because "That's all my character learned before they got kicked out" (Yes we've heard this argument from an RP person on a server who literally only spammed the one ability and died repeatedly in a higher tier dungeon)

SE has labelled the servers with an intent for RP to be on specific servers and then decides that for whatever internal reason, they will move happy servers to shards that are geared towards RP. The only reason for this that makes any sense is that it was a cash grab from their players. With the new expansion coming out, you would think that they had enough income pocketed but instead they shift things around to force people who refuse to RP to go out and buy extra retainers to move their stuff or to "shake up" the housing markets and move peoples in game coin around.

The Free Company we are a part of did a lot of scouting when the announcement was made that our server was being moved. At the time, the new server had the best potential. However, many people preemptively moved their characters by paying for the transfer to get ahead of the curve. That crippled it for those of us who were forced to wait.

So you've dealt with a small hand full of people derping and decided to give up your house? That's not every roleplayer, hell whilst raiding I found quite a lot of non roleplayers doing things like that.... it's called a player base. You get people like that sometimes, to give up your house and hard work over that without realizing that not everyone is like that is a little ridiculous. lmao.

Once again. Square forced you to do nothing, you could have stayed on your server and found a static, found friends, your illogical fear of role players is your issue man, and its honestly hilarious.

That said, it's still against the tos to do it in public.
