They should keep the housing as is for FC only.

Each character should be afforded an instanced area that is considered your homestead.
like mog garden (ffxi) with your own personal house located in it.
cost gil maybe, i dont know.

However if they did this they could make this content client side, as part of the launcher.
That way you not only have a house that you can invite people to, upgrade, decorate ect.
But if it was client side you could do something while the game is updating, and could just upload data to the server when a connection was possible.

This is still sheet of player housing! The only MMO I know of where they can't get stuff right! I mean even low budget Korean MMo's have better solutions that what SE has done! Make it one house per account or instanced on a separate server or do some type of 1st time buyers! I mean, it was easier for me to buy my RL house and I had it built from the ground up to my liking! We are not in San Francisco or Tokyo! Timers for plots and FF11 style camping is a no go for me and many others who refuse to sit around hours to all day! Have you forgotten how camping for a Kraken Club or Thiefs Knife was? 1.0 was a travesty, but you at-least made up for it with Legacy status and revasmping the game after the original producer insulted the player base! Make housing more readily available to all! If people will claim it isn't fair to those who have one, then make more bigger plots for them so they can transfer! <(^-^)>

The problem is not the missing housing, but the people that choose to play in the most crowded servers of the universe and still pretending to have easy access to limited resource as housing.

My server had (and still have) free plots here and there for months but meh, mine is not the "coolest" server so the people thinking they only must play in the "elite" servers won't get here but are vocal about no housing in their servers.

Uh, no? If you aren't in any rush to get a house, you can get one quite easily on most servers because people get bored quite fast in this game. Buuuut I see you're in Balmung, so meh.

No, in most servers you can't get one quite easily, most servers aren't like Midgardsormr. Few NA servers had housing available all the time before auto demo was removed.

Do they though, outside of the housing demo/high housing shift times I mentioned? No, no they don't. Because outside of large servers, it doesn't matter. You say Midgard is small but it's really not that small, it's just there are a few big servers in NA and you happen to be on one lol.

Edit: Keep in mind you'd have to think back 6 months to remember the blissful days of the non housing demo freeze past where none of this crap mattered, where we will be again soon.

These timers need to be reduced significantly to maximum 8 hours

What if they made this change but it was always eight hours when you're at work or school and can't do anything about it?
