TBH just let me get a dank 3x3 grow light garden and a two-room apartment and I won't care about housing anymore.

The problem is not the missing housing, but the people that choose to play in the most crowded servers of the universe and still pretending to have easy access to limited resource as housing.
My server had (and still have) free plots here and there for months but meh, mine is not the "coolest" server so the people thinking they only must play in the "elite" servers won't get here but are vocal about no housing in their servers.

Square will pay people to transfer! Buy an apartment today, buy a house tomorrow! The problem is not the missing housing, but the people that choose to play in the most crowded servers of the universe and still pretending to have easy access to limited resource as housing.

Excuse some of us for having to go where certain things are (roleplay, for instance) - or even more, people who have been on certain high-pop servers since 1.0 that have numerous friends and accomplishments on said server and wish to remain where all those are?The problem is not the missing housing, but the people that choose to play in the most crowded servers of the universe and still pretending to have easy access to limited resource as housing.

They need to allocate resources for these things on a per-server basis. Or just make better resources.
Um, you do realize that Balmung's not the only RP server (#mateussayshi), and that The World Visit system is a thing now? Not only that, but the World Visit system was designed exclusively to eliminate any actual excuse people had for staying on overpopulated servers. Hell, the reason why I transferred to Malboro is because I have friends on Balmung, and now I can use that World Visit system to see them whenever I want and not have to deal with ludicrous login queues or no signs of available housing ever for years.Excuse some of us for having to go where certain things are (roleplay, for instance) - or even more, people who have been on certain high-pop servers since 1.0 that have numerous friends and accomplishments on said server and wish to remain where all those are?

As for the OP's idea, I definitely approve as someone who waited 12 hours in front of a housing plot to no avail and just by the grace of god getting lucky enough to get a plot late that night. Either availability timers need to happen or we need a dev statement with a REALLY good argument as to why the system has been seemingly designed without factoring in any level of negatively-induced player behavior whether it be waiting almost a full day for plots, using bots or other ToS violations to get plots, or even how a single player can transfer plots to potentially keep multiple plots out of the hands of players wanting to buy a home.

I don't really buy the reasoning that there's no reason to live on a high pop server because you can just live on a low pop server and then go to a high pop one to hang out with your actual friends. It's a visit system, not a temporary home system, and while you're visiting you can't use the most common method of social communication (linkshells), and can't put things up for sale either, among other more minor limitationsUm, you do realize that Balmung's not the only RP server (#mateussayshi), and that The World Visit system is a thing now? If you have a bunch of friends on a populated server, transferring to a less populated one just to get a house and then Visiting the other server for 90% of your playtime and locking yourself out of the usage of all linkshells isn't really a suitable alternative. The fact that it was enough for your specific situation is different from it being something acceptable to all players.

It would be nice to get a statement about this or get the timer shown. clicking on the placard for 8+ hours is not fun at all. Right now its more like Absolute Virtue/Pandemonium Warden 2.0As for the OP's idea, I definitely approve as someone who waited 12 hours in front of a housing plot to no avail and just by the grace of god getting lucky enough to get a plot late that night. That means, you people were not addressed by my previous statement: I were talking of people who choose to get in the crowd knowing it beforehand.
People that found their perfectly normal server, crowded later, have no guilt on it. Maybe I've had to say it more clearly. Sorry.
