    Cannot complete server transfer

    I'm trying to transfer my character from Diabolos to Exodus now that data center realignment has occurred and during the free transfer period. I believe I have done all the necessary steps in preparation for the transfer, but when I go through the process on Mogstation I get the error, "This character or one of its retainers is in possession of a ceremony invitation."

    I have performed an /isearch for "ceremony" and "invitation" separately but neither can find a ceremony invite in my inventory. I've also reviewed my player inventory, chocobo saddlebags, and all retainers and cannot find a ceremony invitation. I've deleted my entire mogmail inbox in case someone had mailed me one and I've spoken with the NPC at the Ceremony of Eternal Bonding venue to ensure I did not have an expired invite somewhere. I've also tried logging out of Mogstation and the game and back in again.

    I even took screenshots of each of my inventories for a second review from fc mates to make sure I wasn't overlooking something. I spoke with Square Enix chat support earlier yesterday but they advised that since this error is regarding player inventory that a GM would have to assist instead.

    I submitted a ticket to the GM team yesterday afternoon but did not hear back from them so I'm wondering if any of you fine folks on reddit have any ideas for things I haven't tried. I was split from my raid team with the data center realignment and am currently poised to miss raid later tonight unless I can sort out this server transfer beforehand.

    Do you have any paid retainers that you are no longer paying for? I am not sure if anything on inactive retainers would show in isearch, but it definitely would prevent you from transferring.

    I remember someone having this issue where they stopped paying for a retainer that had an old/expired ceremony invite or blank invitation...

    Yep, that's the situation that made me aware of it not allowing transfers to go through because of it. Who says forums aren't educational.

    I’m fairly sure the item search finds things on inactive retainers, but my intermittent one is currently active so I can’t test it.

    Is there anything else you’re certain your expired retainer is carrying, that you could search for as a test of whether their inventory is checked or not?

    Also, possibly get someone to link the exact item for you and run a search for that, to be extra-sure it’s not a typing error.

    I wish it were so simple. Unfortunately, I have no inactive retainers and have already searched through all 10 active retainer inventories.

    You will need to contact a GM from the in-game support menu and also report this as a bug if there isn't a thread already. SE should just delete all ceremony invitations during the transfer instead of forcing you to. If this is the problem, a GM will have to delete the item from your inventory.

    Did you perhaps subscribe temporarily to the phone app and make use of any of the extra storage that provides?

    I'm still subscribed currently to the phone app and have checked the additional saddlebag storage as well. Unfortunately, there is nothing there either. I've already submitted a ticket to the GM's yesterday but have not received a response yet. I've also submitted a bug report in game and on the official forums. In the past I have only rarely needed GM support but they have always responded same day for prior tickets which is what led me to posting here when I did not hear anything back from them. The waiting game makes me feel a bit helpless in the meantime.

    Did you happen to discard an invitation recently? From various posts/bug reports about the issue it sounds almost like the mogstation seems to latch onto the fact that an invitation even existed in inventory at some point near the attempted transfer and keeps that info cached for an unmentioned amount of time for whatever reason.
