I just did this as a fresh 50 NIN with just the items from MSQ. Make sure you're not stacking on him so none of the aoe thats directed at you hits him, as he will not move out. Make sure you ARE stacking on him during the attack that targets him, as it both protects him from damage and lets you get another link strike in from the knockback. I didn't have to do anything special, just trick attack and keep attack speed buff up, fuma the rest of the time.

When Noct says something big is coming and to warp to the monolith, I spam the warp button I don't seem to be able to get behind it in time to save myself. Any suggestions would be appreciated

Don't spam it, just sit there and wait until the castbar is almost done then warp to the monolith. Because it continually sucks you in, if you keep using warp strike to warp out, you'll be stuck at a bad timed moment when the cast actually goes off.

I am a brand new player, newly 50 and I am about to quit this game over Garuda. In other games I have done really well and have not epic failed like this. I don't know if the Ninja rotation is too difficult or what or if my DPS is really bad since I have only been playing for 30 days. But for an "event" to be this frustrating makes me wonder if this game is worth playing. All I want are those damn boots.

Noctis is very squishy. You need to tank Garauda away from him to make sure he's not getting hit. I figured that out after failing a few times at full life. So, if you can do the mechanics all you have to do is limit the amount of damage Noctis takes.

I also dont seem to make it. I have waited until the last draw in to use my warp and ran all the way out to the other side even of the monolith. The blast hits me for like 6800 and I only have 5000 health as a bard. Do I just need more gear? I just got back into the game after a 2 year hiatus and bought a 120 bow to see if that will help. I can get her to about 25% health before she does the big blast.

You may be waiting too long then, and it is hitting you while you are warping out, which will still kill you. You need to be out of range and by the monolith when the cast bar finishes. If it's doing damage that is anything remotely lethal, then the mechanic is not being done properly, and more gear won't help. She will always do the attack towards the end of the fight no matter how fast or slow you kill her. Just wait to use Warp Strike until near the end of the cast, but make sure you still have enough time to actually do the warp and land by the monolith before the bar finishes. Even if it looks like you avoid the animation of the attack, it's the finishing of the cast bar that determines when you get hit.

Your gear is probably bare minimum for what this needs, so your rotation would need to be spot on to have a chance. And, as a BLM, you'll suffer from any needed movement, so probably better off focusing on upgrading gear more than anything.
