Can we please have the option to switch personal homes into FC homes??

Long story short, my FC leader wants to change his personal home into the FC home since it's better than the FC home and bigger. The FC home is a small but his personal is a large so it just makes more sense.


Why is this not possible? :/
We should be able to swap our personal house to an FC house. Even if that means giving up our current FC house in order to do so, that's fine. An option like "Convert this plot into an FC plot?" would be helpful.

interesting idea, but i prefer the current split selection more.

you could like relocate the current private on a free plot or relinquish it so your guild can build one there

I never understood why one couldn't "convert" a home to an FC house...call it a "remodel" and pay a Gil Fee....its not that big of a deal really.

Course i maybe overlooking a mechanic or something but even then.

This would have been fine but you can't do it anymore. Now upon relinquishing a plot, it becomes unavailable for a time. This was to prevent reselling, which is great. But sadly it also blocks legit people from doing this.

Guessing it has to with how they designed personal housing back in 2013-14. And they are to lazy/dont want to/ change the system since personal is basicly a copy paste in terms of purchase a FC house minus workshops and rooms.

I'm guessing so as well but if they could do relocating I don't see why they can't do this?? Or at the very least, let us set our homes to "Friends only" for entrance and allow us to select as many people as we want who can teleport there (and maybe make it so tenants reset timers as well while we're at it? Especially since we can only have 3 tenants anyway?)

Well considering the hazard of redesigning a system/integration - a "conversion" would be in a sense - a short cut - destroy the house - rebuild it and make it FC capable - but its not that simple - you have inventory/furniture/storage/outdoor furniture sitting there. It's also likely the reason why they decided to do this - that being - prevent of abuse/gil farming/etc.

Its already very easy to get gil these days. Housing is an on going argument and with that - likely will be an ongoing frustration.

But still - a hefty fee to convert would stem the tide. - Make it a one way trip - that way they can't be flipped back to personal use. They favor FC's over personal use already as it is.

If I own a large personal house that an FC is interested in. I could sell the plot to them by them letting me in their FC and then giving me house permissions to do the upgrade, then leaving the FC.

I was intending to only let the FC leader do it with their own personal house. But allowing any member to do it... I don't think this is really an issue, either. I hardly think people making an offer on a house they like when they are willing to pay is the problem. Someone offered my friend 100mil for his large house. He said no but if he had said yes is it really such a huge problem (100mil isn't too far off from the 45mil price tag, considering 45mil of that is a refund of what he paid and the rest is just an offer)? The real problem is people who buy a plot with the intention to sell it for an exorbitant price, purposely taking a home only to flip it for cash.

Although it's true that someone could potentially buy a personal house with the intention of selling it to an FC for cash, someone could also just make an FC with 4+ people in it and buy a house, then sell the FC with the house. I'm sure there is no shortage of people who would give up a ton of gil/cash for a house on certain servers, even if it means telling all of their members to transfer to the new FC.
