Housing Timer why x.x

I have personally seen an FC that has a total of 4 houses set specifically for RP puposes here on Balmung.

Which to me isn't fair to others looking for just one house for their FC. Players in this FC can use their own personal house for RP, rather than tying up several houses. I wish FC's houses had their own residential city and leave personal houses in their own residential area.

Owning more then one personal house is unfair and selfish! Give me a good reason why a player would need more than one personal house?

I'm not arguing for people owning more than 1 house. I'm arguing against the idiotic notion that SE should reset ALL housing which would mostly effect people who only own one house, since they are the majority of house owners in this game.

Yeah, I'd gladly give mine up so people would lose the houses they got from cheating the system. Any decent person would do the same, because it helps other players at sticks it to those who abused the system for their own personal gain.

Giving up mine an maybe not getting a new house would be fine too.. Square is going keep adding housing districts in-game an i would get one eventually again maybe, even a better size. But until they do something to fix the issue with people owning multiple houses, it's going to be a problem and it needs to be addressed in a way that fixes it

Then you go ahead and go demolish your house right now. I mean it, right now, go to placard and demolish your house. None of us will be joining your idiot idea. Some of use like our current housing plots and don't want to trade it for another because of such a stupid idea as punishing everyone because of a few we have no control over.

Couldn't agree more. And if SE is that afraid of the scorn of those few who own such a large number of houses why don't they offer them to keep those houses if they pay increased subscription fees? Like we would have to pay if we opened that many accounts to get such a number of houses? Then it would be fair... and the added income could be used to create resources to offer more housing to all. That would be fair.

What makes you think the added income could go towards housing? SE's reasons for not adding a better housing system or more housing isn't due to lack of funding. They just think they have better things to be spending that money on. SE is not poor. They're just choosing to not concentrate much on housing. Which adds to the frustration of players,

If you have more than 1 house, then you already pay an increased subscription. (There's an option for subscriptions for 1 character per server and another for upto 8 characters per server. The second does cost more.) And as Penthea points out, added fees probably wouldn't go towards housing. It would go towards developing whatever SE thinks is most important. (maybe giving us 2 dungeons each patch again, maybe more cross game events, maybe new events, etc.)

The way to fix the lack of housing is to reset an refund every house.. With the new rules of 1 house per account, they should be removing the houses of those that have bought multiple or are controlling entire districts.

Refund all housing costs and send like 3m gil like they're currently offering to all players with houses.. They can then buy a new house once the timers are up and there will be more open options for other players because it's 1 per account instead of an entire instance per one player.

This just doesn't make sense, but to only stir the pot so to speak.

As someone who understood how things worked (reclaimed houses went available at the top of the hour so that was the only time you needed to check) and still spent 3 real life months camping Mist to get a mansion, this would upset me to no end. Maybe make players choose a single house if they have many, but not strip all of us of our houses just to appease the really loud ppl who want one.

This would be the worst thing they could do since many of us home owners are legit about it and the mass house owners are the few.

I agree with this! Maybe hire a new GM whose only job is to monitor the housing areas for people claiming housing for the same FC with the 1 or 2 letter differences in the name too

I really don't understand what's wrong with first come first serve. That's how I got my house multiple years ago, and it sure beats forcing players to stare at a placard for hours on end hoping the option will appear. That's just poor design.

Because people can't make the difference between equal opportunities and equal outcomes. Nothing beats the free market.
