Transfer to Lower-Pop Server to Buy a House

Title says it all. With my situation, I am unable to fight/compete for a plot timer.

What are some thoughts on this and what servers (do you think) would be the best bet?

We've already got a bunch of smalls opening up on Coeurl, along with the occasional medium and even a large (which was bought almost as soon as it went up). Considering we had over 600 houses (including mediums) available before auto-demo was suspended and they announced the free gil giveaway, I'm expecting at least a couple of hundred houses to be available over the next 7 weeks.

Any of the Crystal worlds other than Mateus and Balmung are likely to be a good choice. If you want to stay on a Primal world so you can continue to do things with friends on Behemoth, I'm not sure which one to suggest.

Before the Auto-Demolition suspension and Free Transfer program Famfrit had most of the Goblet open and probably 20-30 other houses scattered across the other three housing areas.

Currently we are completely sold out (or were last night), but I expect we'll have houses available in a week or two.

If you don’t have a lot people or things on your current server to keep you there then I say do it. Make the change that lets you achieve what you want in game. Good Luck!

If you want to be on Aether, I believe Adamantoise is our lowest pop server. Really nice folks there too!

Housing has become an absolute nightmare. I had to move servers to continue being able to play with some friends, I had to give up a medium and a small house. And even after hours and hours of trying to get a place no luck at all. And then I see areas in which one player owns 5,6 or more houses. It's beyond frustrating, it's infuriating, it's saddening. I've been trying to look at other servers, the situation is everywhere on this dc (aether) the same. This needs to be revised and more housing be made available.
