VIT to HP ratio is poor, like 1.4 hp per vit or something I think and sucks for increasing defense and acting as any real kind of mitigation against a hard hitting boss like ifrit.
DEX is the worst stat in the game imo, for every class including archers as it only increases archer AA damage. You are always accuracy capped with the full party buff and if you want to solo just get a mog blade. Adding dex for just the sole purpose of critical hits is a waste of points, it's rng, don't bank on crits for anything. Adding dex for block rate is pointless for gladiator, might be different for PLD but I wouldn't get your hopes up on that.
PIE, you don't need the minor mp boost or 4 enfeeble skill from it.
MND, you get AA only damage increase that probably hard caps around 280 and small self heal increase on cnj cure spell. Might be more useful for PLD healing spell but idk, have to find out tomorrow.
I did 23 STR and 22 VIT thinking the hp increase was going to be higher, tomorrow I will probably restat to 23 STR and probably 22 MND IF there some larger advantage compared to the minor increase from VIT. All assuming PLD AF doesn't set you near probable MND hard cap for AA damage.

No, VIT and DEF does very little against harder hitting and higher level monsters which both current bosses are. Adding 22 VIT isn't going to make any noticeable difference when a single healer can practically out heal any damage done to you. Read the part where he explains how naked ifrit works, should make it even easier to understand.

Okay I'll propose this to you for adding points. Don't. Not yet. Any points you put into Gld will be carried over to Pld. There is a very real chance that stats may work slightly different for jobs, or have a greater effect. Wait for a bit, maybe a week, see how stats fair after tomorrow for Pld. For now use materia and gear.
I think they said you can redo stats as you please with this patch so it's not permanent, not 100% certain though. Also you are pretty much stuck doing one of two things, STR VIT or STR MND both provide minor boosts that are not game breaking or really worth arguing over which is superior. Only thing that really matters to help decide what to do is to see how much, if any, MND you get from PLD AF. Fairly certain all secondary AA stat boosts have a hard cap similar to DEX for archer so after awhile going past that is only giving minor healing increases.
Really hoping PLD has some percentage based damage reduction traits that help reduce damage, going to be really sad if they just throw on some extra 50 defense or something![]()
22 VIT may not help -that- much but when you add it on top of a double meld VIT Cuirass and a double VIT meld Winglet, yes it does make a noticeable difference.
