no clue in that case, if it was the launcher we could have tried to see if it still happened on other wine versions

The client, the launcher logs in and works fine itself.
The tech forum has admins that try to address and fix issues, and I think they probably get in trouble if they don't make an attempt to fix problems and get threads essentially "cleared."
Since Linux isn't supported, the admins won't respond, but because it's an active issue, the thread keeps getting bumped. It looks bad for them visually to have a thread like this exist in the tech forum--basically straight up indicates they aren't addressing the issue and don't care. Easy solution? Move the thread to where it is less visible and will be buried.
For the same reason, I think it's unlikely they will sticky the thread. They'd probably prefer it not exist. Add to that Japan has historically ignored bug tickets and forums from the west and it overall doesn't really build confidence in FFXIV doing anything about this.
Probably the only way this will be fixed is if Valve tells SE to fix it, as I think the launcher changes are a result of the Steam/Launcher integration in the first place. If any of you users are playing through Steam, maybe you can push the issue there.
Ok fixed my issue. What I did was install another instance of it (which ran fine), and went into wine configuration and made the old install's "libraries" tab look like this: https://i.imgur.com/HqcuwDC.jpg
I had A LOT of junk in there for the original install NOT including the 2 here (ignore the "disabled" one).
NO idea why the config screwed up that much, I sure didn't do anything. But at least it works.
I'm guessing the one that matters the most is Deverum.
dont know why change luncher where broke proton build and also move post out of tech support piss me off

Another friendly bump to make sure the topic is made visible again. For those of you just joining us, Feffe has a Lutris build![]()
The fix in the OP worked for me. I built wine from source, wine 4.6 staging plus applying the custom IsTransgaming patch from the OP. Debian buster (testing).
PS: I even just managed to get it working in dx11 mode with dxvk 1.0.3. Fun times.
