If anything, this opens up the possibility for me to spread my monopolies data center wide.

Usually they weren't on every server, and the ones that were targeted certain areas you could avoid, which could differ from server to server. Crafter players sometimes transferred so they wouldn't have to compete with certain problem bots.
Now bots will affect all servers, and in more areas.
I honestly don't see any reason it'd be any worse. Same number of bots. Either they'll spread out and everyone gets a dose, keeping low level mats and crafts low priced.. or they'll still concentrate and the problem hasn't changed.

Ultimately, I predict the bots are just going to make everything dirt cheap across an entire data center, which is all fine and dandy for the consumers who comprise the vast majority of the community, but horrible for the producers who've just plain given up on some servers.

People have a horribly skewed perception of what's actually "overpriced" because of these guys.

Things like this always make me wonder why we have to mimic real life capitalism. Sure you make less money (boohoo) but now things are more accessible to people with less money. And that upsets some of you? Should only the most prestigious people be allowed to have nice things? What do you even need millions and millions of gil for anyway, if everything is dirt cheap?

Okay, let me give you an example because you don't seem to be getting it.

On one server, there's a bot that specialises in selling endgame gear dirt cheap, with very little profit. People could just transfer to other servers to avoid it.
Some bots could specialise in selling potions for dirt cheap, with very little profit.
Bots in certain areas and servers didn't affect servers without those specific bots.
    Now. They. Do.
All servers, all endgame crafting areas. Money is now being fed to the bots from all servers, funding RWT activities. Ordinary people cannot compete.

And this means that new crafters, just entering the scene are the worst off.
They have to compete with all bots, whilst the other, older crafters have their large cashpile from when they didn't have to compete so much, can watch as everything falls in price, making their cashpile more valuable.
    Bots win.
Everyone else thinks they win because of Lower prices, but they'll never have the cash piles the older crafters, or the bots have.

I have a question then, what exactly is having cheap crafts and materials hurting besides peoples Gil pile growth?
I've heard people say money is useless in this game, so .. why are people so concerned with how fast they can make it?

But the materials will be cheaper anyway. So they'll be able to level their crafting just as quickly for far less investment. unless your goal is amassing Gil, this isn't a detriment to new crafters.

The game doesn't mimic real life capitalism. The environment is fundamentally different and actually solves a lot of the problems that free market capitalism has irl. Anyone who wants to become rich can be if they simply invest the time into doing so.

You know what won't be cheaper though? Rare drops. It just got a lot harder to get them for yourself, as their prices stay stable, but now it's hard to make the money for them now.
For example, Night Pegasus whistles. I checked all servers on my data centre, and they are all around the same price. Gonna be harder to make money to buy one of those now :P
