Porting to another city would only make sense if you would've a trading chat that you can read in every city and the housing zones. Otherwhise your example is not a good one because i can't know what someone wants to sell in Limsa when i'm in Gridania.

Ah that. That fee is really negligible and only really counts if you buy something expensive. But when you look at things like crafted gear, people will notice that they don't sell their stuff if they don't hop servers to adjust their prices and that is annoying, same goes for buying that stuff.
