I discovered another crazy scheme, while waiting for queue during the Hildibrand series, I discovered a full team of possibly bots that would appear together and vanish every few seconds.

"Politics are for kings and lords, talk of wealth for merchants, the rest of us should concern ourselves with the health and wellbeing of one another."
These are bots. Make sure to report them. I do everytime I see them. If they disappear too fast, open the report page, then right click "Send Tell" and just copypaste the name into the report, because it's usually a bunch of random characters. I also send about 10 bot names per report.
Im happy for world visit cause now things are going down in price and I can buy things now. Best thing ever, also friends can now visit places and hang out without needing to transfer all the time.
So far, the only thing I've noticed as far as prices go is that the gear and infusion prices on my server have tanked even harder after the resident bot farmers noticed that Gilgamesh was selling at even lower prices then them.
I am, however, selling my furniture and glam items quicker then ever, so there's that, at least.
This has been going on for years now. They're just gil farming bots who amass millions from completing the MSQ and spamming dungeons then try to sell it off before they inevitably get purged (They hack to speed things along which has the side effect of getting them banned rather quickly...if once a week can be considered quick).
You probably just happened to never be in the right place at the right time to see them until now.
I consider those guys less of the problem then the bots actively manipulating the economy, though.

Hey, I just moved to Diabolos. \ o /
The prices on Diabolos were honestly a slap to the face. I think they were more expensive (by three times or so) than my previous two servers, though some items were surprisingly roughly the same price as Balmung and other servers.
Because I had no life (just kidding, I was avoiding the study for finals), I went to every server to cross reference expensive items so my money would go farther. If Diabolos (home world) was basically the same price (even if it was a couple thousand more), I would buy from homeworld to help with the economy. If the items were significantly cheaper, I'd buy through other worlds. I found out in my search that Balmung is definitely not always cheaper. Sometimes Diabolos was the cheapest (but rarely), sometimes Malboro, Brynhildr, Zalera, or Mateus were the cheapest, for select items, etc. etc., but rarely. It really does depend on the item in question.
That being said, I suspect that all the servers' markets will need to adapt in order to thrive. Either Balmung will get more expensive, the other servers will get cheaper, or they'll all meet partway with time. As I'm sure you know, markets tend to fluctuate all the time for better or for worse and this is just a part of that. Start comparing prices to other worlds (even if it's just Balmung) to get a foot in the competition.

People freak out without realizing that over time the price of mats for crafting, etc... will come down in price making crafting cheaper and thus reasonable to sell cheaper. I think those complaining are the ones who expect to continue shafting their fellow players by charging outrageous prices because players had no choice 'then'... and now they are upset because they have to accept less as it has become a competitive marketplace- as it should be- just like the real world. If you don't like prices at store abc, then go check prices over at xyz.

I do a lot of server jumping. Limsa is the easiest place to do that and compare prices in my opinion. Good thing too if you server is out of stock on an item others are not necessarily.

With the time we've had since the patch, prices seem to have balanced out and I'm finding the few things I buy cheaper across all worlds because less of the cheaper goods get bought out on any one world. The things I have been selling on Balmung have gone up in price, making me richer. From my experience it's balanced out like Yoshi-P fortold.
