People are lazy. They will use the MB rather than teleporting to an NPC already. It's hard to believe everyone will be spending an hour zooming from world to world for every purchase. Prices will equalise, not just drop.

Big misconception. Gil is not needed for anything other than housing, but it's equivalent to time. You can engage in lengthy grinds (mounts, Eureka emotes, raid gear, achievements, etc.), or you can use Gil to bypass that grind. For those who don't care about the rules, it can be sold for real money.
It's being done through cheating.
Orr.. you could run the content for them? Like.. playing the game. And all the while slowly building Gil towards buying it if it never drops. Or farm some other rare drop to sell for the gil.You know what won't be cheaper though? Rare drops. It just got a lot harder to get them for yourself, as their prices stay stable, but now it's hard to make the money for them now.
For example, Night Pegasus whistles. I checked all servers on my data centre, and they are all around the same price. Gonna be harder to make money to buy one of those now :P
If rare drops are unaffected you can farm them for gil to buy other rare drops.
I am still unconvinced that this is more detriment than boon.

No it is not being done through cheating. Buying from a cheaper provider is part and parcel with any market.Big misconception. "Sometimes I wonder I heal for fun. or if I heal because I'm a glutton for punishment."
I don't have anyone to run PotD with, and since I have no experience with deep PotD, no parties will have me XD so I'll end up buying it eventually, just gonna be a lot harder for me and others with everything tanking in price.
Also houses, gonna be harder for newer people to get money for houses now.
The gil is still available through intended systems like rare drops and quest rewards, you just can't profit as quickly off crafts.Big misconception. The cheating aspect is a whole other ball of wax though. People aren't mad because it's cheating, they're mad because it's cutting into their profits.

I'm mad because they're cheating and because they're lowering the profit margin for people who don't already have a mountain of gil to sit on.
I haven't bothered competing with them ever since I realized niche markets both reduce my competition from undercutters and can get me more gil for less time investment.
What are you going to do with your mountain of gil once you've built it?I'm mad because they're cheating and because they're lowering the profit margin for people who don't already have a mountain of gil to sit on.

Large houses are the biggest meaningful investment you can make with gil and you'd be surprised at how many people can't afford a medium still.
This is going to be especially relevant with a new housing district being introduced in ShB.
25 Mil is hardly a mountain anymore though. it's been standardized and is a known quantity. If I put my mind to it I could easily build up that money in 2 months, crappy economy or no and with a minor investment of play time. Ignoring the fact that a large house for a single individual is.. excessive.
People who want to amass wealth are still capable of it, but people who just need mats/gear aren't going to have to pay exorbitant amounts for that gear anymore.
