Did we factor in mob attack speed/accuracy/spells/abilities as well? How is 100 shadows relevant when the mob can take 99
of them in a split second?

Average mob attack speed in FFXI was 2 seconds. Miss and evades also take precedence over hits. 7 images/37 seconds, or 1 image/5.3 seconds was way more than enough to take less overall damage than a PLD tank.
