the lobby server connection has encountered an error 2002

The maintenance for the split and the all worlds maintenance end at the same time, about 20 hours from now.

Yeah. I know that now, but I didn't check the main site for all the information. The only notice I saw was on the launcher, and that was for the maintenance for all worlds tonight.

Always scroll down on those don't just go continue if you had scrolled down you would have known NA servers would be down for maintenance for a whole day. SE did inform players as much as possible excluding emails directly to everybody so you not knowing is entirely on you.

Tried making a PSA thread about it to try and help those who would be affected know so they don't spam the forums with can't log on threads like what happened with EU next time not bothering >_>

Ok, so there's maintenance going on and they could have tried to make it more obvious that it would be a day long shut down (they really should have put the longer shutdown time above the shorter one), got it. So why in the world is it popping up as an error 2002, or in my case a problem connecting to the server? That's not going to help me understand wth is happening with my game. This confusion is understandable. How hard would it be to create a message saying, "FF14 is undergoing maintenance," rather than what amounts to, "Something is wrong"?

Because the game isn't down just the servers if you have characters on EU or JP servers you can still play so 2002 is just the error you get for being unable to connect to the NA servers
