I had it reversed you're correct. Point still stands though. Meta or GTFO. And TBH the ONLY time I saw DRKs ever get requested in particular was for K.klub zergs unless you had an Apoc. lol.Uh, it was always the other way around. Scythe was shit always unless fighting trash mobs. Remember, other than Spiral Hell, all of Scythe weapon skills were multihit which missed or hit for 100 damage. You didn't use Guillotine on HNMs and gods, you used Spinning Slash and Groundbreaker with Sneak Attack+Trick Attack. Seriously, DRKs only use Scythe for Guillotine for merit parties, and even then, they were better off using Great Sword for Spinning Slash, or even /NIN and dual wielding axes for Rampage.
Have just realised there is yet another weapon exchange at the Wolves' Den - Hellhound gear from the Feast Quartermaster at the aetheryte plaza.
The paladin weapon isn't a sword but a "war pick" (looks like a one-handed halberd) and the warrior battleaxe is halfway to a really bulky scythe. Cool-looking weapons all round. (But apparently requires winning at PVP so out of the question for me.)
Depended on the era. Before the zerg meta, DRK WAR SAM were the meta for melee. DRK/THF could still output good damage with Spinning Slash, just not as ideal as SAM/THF could (with the crazy attack bonus Gekko had, and how fast SAM generated TP)
They could just add hammer designs to the axe list. Likewise they could do it for all the classes. Sure it might be labeled correctly, but I glady take that if it meant we got more visuals.
sadly no even though nero uses a hammer and has the same moveset as the warrior. Honestly they should just make all savage raids drop alternate variants ex.
axes > hammers
great sword > scythes
sword/shield > mace/shield
Since this game is shifting to a glamour based play style I think this would keep savage content alive just for the fact that you can get a variant for your class. Though imo the best axe in the game is definitely the genji axe and is probably the more unique axes out there. Looks like a club on you back but fold out into an axe when drawn and also looks like it deals more blunt damage than slicing.
