Is there a way of making the game show you that you should do your job quests better?

So my boyfriend and I decided to start leveling DPS after getting healers and tanks to lvl 70 (my healers, his tanks mostly). On the last week while doing my leveling I got at least four tanks that ignored their job quests and made Titan/Brayflox Longstop a bigger pain than they should be.
One of them even told me that they "didn't want to play tank and only wanted seals" so they wouldn't do their job quests, and we (the rest of the group) should just play better. This one was a jerk, obviously, but many of the other ones simply... didn't know? I told them they should do their job quests anyway and they said "ok".
Usually these cases are rare but lately I have been AFRAID of popping my leveling and getting a tank that is a gladiator on level 30.

I mean, I know how people can be lazy and not read (I really, really do and tend to stress myself a lot with the lack of willing to get information) but at this point, I wonder if the game is not making clear that job quests are a must? Like, that they're not optional at all? Specially with classes that involve job stones, that seems to be a huge problem.
How can the game improve on telling people how to do stuff that are important to the gameplay? Maybe locking duties unless you do at least your lvl 30 job quest? I don't know how the game should deal with that tbh. I'm just running low on patience with people that don't bother to read things and feeling bad about getting pissed with new players (I don't treat anyone bad because of that, mind you, but I still think OHMYGOD CREATURE WHY DON'T U READ). Maybe that's a game-design problem? Or are people just really lazy and there's nothing you can do because they won't read?
Is there SOMETHING that the game can do?

I would agree with locking duties behind at least job crystals after 30, and really at least having item level requirements for dungeons while leveling. I don't know how much more they can do besides just like randomly in the msq OH HEY YOU SHOULD GO DO YOUR JOB QUESTS.

Yeah I also don't know any solution besides that. They could revamp the Hall of the Novice and scream at people DO YOUR JOB QUESTS but that would require players to read and it seems that this is way too much to ask.
Most classes suffer from not doing their lvl 30 job quests, but I think that tank is the worst. God, I saw Titan tanking Titan and it was sad. lmao

Lol only thing I could suggest is maybe doing tank+dps or healer+dps while leveling in shadowbringers. That way at least one of you has a way of influencing the party more. I mean dps can help keep up the pace but if a tank or healer is bad it's way more detrimental to a group.

Maybe when attempting to queue up for a duty over level 30 without a job stone, the game should just tell people "NO!" and automatically port them in front of their job NPC.

I think the best possible outcome would be for SE to reconfigure DoW/M to be jobs only. SE has already admitted that classes were a mistake and that and summoner shouldn’t have been paired together. I don’t know if SE said they would ever fix it though but we can hope for a Shadowbringers miracle.

Still wouldn’t help the people who are level 50 without some of their job abilities though.

I feel like class quests shouldn't be locked behind MSQ progress. It becomes problematic rather quickly, especially on preferred servers with the xp bonus. Because of that, the earliest I was able to accept my level 30 class quest was at level 34. Then it became a problem again when I hit level 50+ in the middle of the ARR MSQs and couldn't start the post level 50 class quests until I had started HW. I ended up unlocking my level 52 spell at around level 58.

Of course you have people who just don't pay attention and to help with that the game should auto accept the class quests at the appropriate level and lock them on the quest helper window. It would make it impossible for people to not notice them.

    ^ Sadly that, yes.

No we are talking about the opposite, the need for the lv 30 job quest to do... dunno Brayfox onwards? And to keep that lock.

I don't think that it is such a bad thing to not have some 50's skill but the level 30 job stone class quest is a must. Otherwise it can really affect other people playing with you.

You can't make people learn to play their job. Even if you locked the duty finder till they did their job quests doesn't mean they would learn how to play it.
