Suggestion, more leniency with leaving if someone is offline

I recently encountered a player who got irritated because the healer died before the first 5 minutes and disconnected. Thinking that it was safe to leave the party, I did so, only to be penalized for 30 minutes. I know that's not the end of the world, but it forced me to take a small break when otherwise I would have been a consistent and well meaning duty finder party member in my next party, just like I was in the dungeon in question. It didn't seem fair that I was to be locked into a dungeon for 4 something minutes before being able to kick the disconnector, much less 30 minutes for not having patience. There needs to be a change in the votekick system for this particular scenario. The system should be able to confirm if the disconnector is indeed offline and kick them for being offline, regardless of the current time spent in the duty. This is just my suggestion, though. I like FFXIV a lot and very rarely do I run into problems. The community is the least toxic of any MMO I've played, which keeps me loyal. It indeed needs some technical tweaks, though, which the dev team seems to be getting ready for in Shadowbringers.

Sorry. I'm pretty new to the forums and I think this is in the wrong section. Could a mod please move this topic to the right section?

The thing is a disconnection can happen to anyone. Let's say you had queued up for something, it's your first time and you get a little excited then bam some minutes in to the duty you get logged out/disconnected. Would you have been thankful if the remaining players in the party waited for you to come back or would you have preferred they just kicked you when they can (thus you'd have to requeue again)?

Usually waiting a few minutes seems like the best thing to do because for all we know the player could return within that time, and well if they don't then you can kick them or leave yourself if really necessary. The system is fair to an extend that disconnects can happen, but also as a player you might need to show a little compassion on your own side as well. Although some players do abuse disconnections sometimes to get a kick and avoid a penalty, but it's rare to happen so don't think everyone does that or anything.
