A Requiem for Heroes needs 380 gear requirement or a longer timer

As a 371 paladin, its impossible to dps the swords down fast enough. Very frustrating to go through that stupid long droning fight with hien and then be put into an unwinnable situation. If its going to require a dps check, please check my gear and don't waste my time when its impossible at my gear level.

If you aren't going to do that, at least add 30% to the timer, I can't even get to the third sword, there simply isn't enough time for a paladin to do this.

Just gear up LOL. Ghimlyt Dark alone gives i375 minus weapon, then you have i380 omicron and crafted rakshasa gear, i390 genesis, yama and orbonne gear, all of which are fairly easy to obtain as long as you bash your head in it a few times. For casuals as well. If you need a weapon but feel afraid of ex fights, get a genesis weapon i390 for 1000 stones + 4x alpha 4.0 crystalloids. Or get a HQ rakshasa weapon and upgrade it to HQ Yama. There are so many ways to get gear.

Outgear it or get better, at some point you should expect that the game stops holding your hand for once so you decide how to deal with a problem on your own.

They aren't complaining about having to get better gear, they are complaining about the game even letting them try with gear that isn't good enough.

The thing is... It is possible for some classes to complete the quest with lower item level than 380.

For example, I did it on my 310 ilevel SMN.

In fact, I don't think ilevel actually makes a difference in it, it feels like you get buffed up to a certain ilevel during the fight, after doing it on my ilevel 37x Warrior (And failing to beat the swords) and my 33x Samurai (And failing to beat the swords) and then my 310 SMN beating them with ease with less than half the cast bar complete...

But yeah... It's merely a matter of saving any and all burst CD's for the sword phase... Or pick a ranged job and get a free ride because it's easy to keep 100% uptime on them while still dodging all the AoE's being spammed everywhere during that phase...

So ill start by saying i didnt do this quest as PLD, as i dont have it leveled(or unlocked). Are you dodging the attacks? I would guess that as a tank you can probly just eat them(unless they apply a damage down debuff) to keep more uptime. Your gear doesnt actually look like too much of a problem(though your sword is a bit lower then id want to go with), though id defer to anyone who cleared this as a mid-ilvl pally.

The thing is a 371 PLD can clear the trial, as someone below you said they failed on their 370ish WAR and 330ish Sam but won on their 310 SMN. It's less about gear and more about how well you can dps as your chosen job. Some jobs have an easier time of it yes, but not so easy that gear from the start of SB is good enough for one and almost max ilvl isn't good enough for another.

Make sure you're in Sword Oath. Requiescat + Holy Spirit spam one sword. Pop Flight or Fight, make sure you're only using your dps combo. Maybe use dot combo + Circle of Scorn on a sword and then switch to another while the dots tick. Use tank privilege and CDs and don't dodge attacks if they don't debuff you.

I did this at 360ilevel on my Paladin. And according to several others you appearently get an Echo buff if you die enough times. So theres that use it.

OP's issue of not clearing the fight on i371 PLD is his own problem, not a design problem - what I said were simply solutions, respectively to brute force it with better gear or to learn how to play PLD better, if only for this fight.

The suggested iLv requirement is, as others already explained, unnecessary since others have won with way less iLv.

Oneshottet it easily on my i370 DRK.

While playing safe, having no burst ready and never looked into a rotation guide for this job.

As a Dragon, I also had problems DPS’ing the 3 swords down fast enough in the 2nd phase of the instance; I tried several times with different rotations but to no avail. I took a break and was thinking about it and thought that well maybe, I just need to get the health down enough on each of the 3 swords and there would be less damage when they exploded or however that mechanic worked. With that theory in mine I went back in and when I did the 1st sword I DPS’d it as much as possible until the AOE orange lines appeared then I went to the next sword and did the same thing. When I was on the third sword, I did manage to destroy it then the big red explosion and I survived. After that, it was just a matter of grinding down the boss while avoiding his AOE’s.
