Can you world transfer while logged out in an inn room?

I thought I wouldn't bog down the official forums with a simple question like this so I posted it on the FFXIV subreddit, but was met with quite a lot of rudeness and avoidance of actually answering my question, so here I am. Maybe someone here will be nice enough to give me a straight answer.

The important info about what you can and can't do when you go to transfer says you can't be logged out while in an instance, but since you don't get booted out of the inn like player housing, is it allowed?

Please don't tell me "just leave the inn and you won't have a problem", because I'm simply asking since it's not something I know and I'm curious. Thanks.

I think you can, but if I'm wrong, then it will let you know that you cannot and what you need to do to fix it, so there shouldn't be any problem doing it.

I’m fairly certain that you can transfer while in an inn room. I’ve never heard of any sort of restriction like that. As linay said, if you can’t, the transfer will fail and should tell you why.

Thank you for answering. Maybe I'll try it during the free transfers and find out and post in here again in case anyone else goes looking out of curiosity or otherwise. I initially tried to Google it but didn't find any info on it (Google didn't help because it kept thinking I meant 'in' and not 'inn').

Consider that the Inn isn't really an instance in the same way as a duty or even housing. It's a place that's always up and running so you can log out there just like any other place.

That's true. I just have a vague memory of not being able to log out there after using a Fantasia or something? So I was wondering if it was similarly affected by transfers.

Perhaps it was an older issue at some point that was changed to allow it?
Although I used a Fantasia in the Inn recently and the only issue I had was I needed to be butt naked (well unequip all gear) before logging out to change my character. I used it in the Inn though as I wanted to change my hairstyle as soon as I could, the default stuff unfortunately doesn't have our in-game unlocks available...

Hm. Maybe it was changed. I actually can't remember where I was when I last Fantasia'd (probably outside my apartment) but I have a vague memory from years ago of having to have my naked ass standing outside the inn because I couldn't do it inside. :/

Dunno. The transfer site will complain if it doesn't like something about your character. No worries, if something blocks you it'll let you know before you pull the trigger. It's not uncommon to need to log in to adjust a few things between transfer attempts.
