What's funny to me, is that when we say "it's already 2/4 to kick someone and that's fine" the response is "well SE isn't god, this is an open forum to say what we feel is wrong" then when we talk about playstyle differences, it's brought up "BUT IT DOESN'T STATE THAT AS A REASON TO KICK SOMEONE, WE CAN'T POSSIBLY HAVE OTHER REASONS!" nevermind the fact that GM's have proven otherwise. Just interesting how viewpoints change depending on whether we feel it proves us correct or not.

To be fair the extremes on both sides will never let it be settled.

When solo queuing DF I usually start with a large pull simply because everyone has all their CD's. If I feel it takes too long to kill off everything on that first pull I start pulling smaller so the healer can contribute more DPS as this threshold of time I've mentally set tends to only become an issue if at least 1 of the DPS is doing a poor job of actually doing damage. I could probably confirm it more specifically if I actually bothered with parsers. However seeing parse numbers on screen would probably start annoying me more than anything else. Especially if I start seeing too many situations where the tank and healer are outputting more damage than the DPS in the group.

I used to be the healer who saw way too many slacking DPS. I've switched to DPS and never looked back

It's strange, but on average duty's are completed more quickly when I'm there on DPS (since I can do more), but I also have to factor in queue time.... At least it encouraged me to finish leveling crafting classes.

On the flip side, I now see more slacking healers ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

This topic falls under the category of "average player is bad", which always gets many replies.

Similar thread made around the same time as yours

what i do as a tank i'll say im new to this dungeon i'll be doing short pulls to learn it. or if i see a new player i ask who is and if they dont feel up to it i'll do small. sometimes also i'll do a big pull and gauge how fast it dies. if its slow i'll break up pulls to smaller.

This whole debate is ridiculous tbh.
If you're in a premade, you generally have a good idea of the capacity of all your team members. Do/pull as you like, since you know the others are able to keep up.

In duty finder, with varying degrees of skill and setup, make an effort to adjust. When you're going into duty finder, you are consenting to having your gameplay experience completely in the hands of the rest of the group, and if you aren't comfortable enough with that to play accordingly (someone has got to give and frankly if you're reading this thread right now, it's most likely going to be you), then don't play in the duty finder.
People in duty finder are never going to learn or improve their skills while you're playing with them for any reason and you have to learn to live with it and accept it, or do something else.

Because let's be clear: When you queue up with randoms for duty finder, you choose to have your time wasted by a potentially terrible group. Live with your choices.

That's pretty much what I've been saying all along. If you're matched with randoms and they want to do things a different way than what you usually do, try and adjust to fit them. Because you are consenting to having your gameplay experience completely in the hands of the rest of the group.

This is enforced with the party's votekick.

It's as if that applies to the tank as well, wait...
