what does this have to do with lgbt issues, i thought this was about a male rabbit or something
Has nohing to do with it, since the requests to play male viera are about two years old and it was made from different players who didn't define their irl gender much less their sexual orientation publicly which obviously isn't even relevant to the game structure itself.

That is the whole reason for overly masculine females and feminine males. The devs thought to cater to guys who wanted bunny girls jumping around, but they forgot about the other tribe they picked up along the way. lol
Why do you think the backlash by them is so intense?

Again someone is missing the obvious: around two years ago the different players that requested male viera as a playable gender did not define their irl gender publicly much less their sexual orientation.

Those arent the guys pushing the fan art in the threads that came flooding in, you arent fooling anyone.

You may have missed my previous post - there's nothing wrong or "inherently LGBT" about wanting a masculine female race or feminine male race. They're just character designs. That is the whole reason for overly masculine females and feminine males. The primary concept art shown for male Viera doesn't even look that feminine. I actually thought they looked interesting because they didn't apply the "bunny girl" concept to the males but designed these rather powerful warrior types. It's a concept I would have loved to play around with for a character.
That seems irrelevant. People don't usually announce their gender/preferences alongside anything else they show support for. You can't trace something like that or say there's no correlation.
(Not saying there is, but that you can't use it as proof that there isn't.)

you seem to be pushing an agenda here my dude maybe sit down and drink some calming teaThat is the whole reason for overly masculine females and feminine males. You really don't think anyone beyond the "expressive" (for lack of a better term) subset of LGBT people would have a reason to want male Viera and/or female Hrothgar - and only because of sex appeal?Yikes! You guys are getting way too crazy and pushy over things. There are already more then enough ways to...."express"....your movement, in game. Sheesh!
I must ask though, is the game going to be solely focused on LGBT only or will it be balanced for players who are just here for the fun of the game's storyline/content itself?
I'm not any of those things, and I wanted them because they seemed like interesting character designs - particularly the concept art we had for 'warrior' male Viera.
Also it just seems odd to only ever see one gender of a race. They can make their lore-excuses about unbalanced birth rates and reclusive gender-roles, but it just seems strange to have so many of the playable races in that situation. (Miqo'te still have the lore supporting unbalanced mostly-female populations, even if they've stepped away from not being able to show males at all.)

I mean... From what I can gather from Yoshi's prior responses...
Is that Male Viera and Female Hrothgar are not going to happen.
Unless he can persuade his boss that giving the team extra resources to make them will be profitable for the company.
Since it seems like he was asking for the resources to add in a new race and eventually got the green light to allow them to actually make one, thus he decided to make the Hrothgar (Possibly due to wanting them in the MSQ lore) and then in order to make the most out of the opportunity also decided to make the female Viera which have been highly requested.
He could have just gone for just Hrothgar both genders and no-one would be upsetti (Unless he stated that it would be the last race implemented into the game, which would have annoyed all the people asking for Viera) but it seems to me like he's trying to create a situation whereby profits for a single new race worth of work are maximized AND fans will be up in a frenzy asking for removal of genderlock - Which would be very good things for strengthening his bargaining positioning when asking for additional resources for more race/gender inclusion.
So, it strikes me as something that we won't hear back from, until at LEAST after ShB actually drops so that SE knows the kind of profits (If any) they made from their investment into allowing Yoshi and his team to develop this new race. If it is profitable, then Yoshi will have to ask again for the resources to implement the other genders and will be able to use these profits AND the fan feedback that is very adamant about wanting these genders (Keep supporting those mega-threads about the genders) to argue that it will be a worthwhile investment.
If the female Viera and male Hrothgar do not make a profit significant enough, you will likely hear that there will be no plans to add the other genders as the team will simply not get the resources.

Apparently you missed the official response OP.
Yoshida said in several interviews that "they are not saying 'no' to completing the missing genders". But that he isn't making any promises either. In other words, if they find the time and resources to do it, they will. But if they can't, they won't.
The important thing is that they aren't saying "no, we don't want to do this", because they would like to if they can find the time and resources. Just don't expect it until much later (likely at least 6.0)
