This. If things are not done correctly in there, big 'ol IGs come out to force a reset. While it still doesn't address players getting teleported to the wrong alliance, usually mentioning in alliance chat to not start the fight until enough members are present to stand on the platforms is usually all it takes. These type of things the devs rely on the players actually communicating with each other to get things done. There is no reason for them to go in and spend valuable resources that is perfectly and easily accomplished by the players.
I once had a similar expirence like the one you described long time ago and yes we got all stuck because one alliance couldn't kill their Atomos and we had to wait for the timer to run out.
they could also just adjust the aggro range of the atomos so that people that're standing just slightly in front of the atomos don't pull...
but I doubt SE has any manpower devoted to addressing outdated stuff like that.
It isn't so much an enrage, but it's there's to prevent exactly what you were wondering. But honestly LotA had a plethora of ways for just one person the completely wipe the raid. It's nice that they have taken steps to mitigate that with a lot of the newer raids.
