[Request] Please Put in Item Level Requirements for Old Content (And other fixes)

I'm in a mood today so I'm gonna be blunt(ish).

I'm tired of seeing people join leveling roulette with crafting gear, extremely low level gear, especially tanks and healers. When I try to talk to them about it, they threaten to report me, even though I'm trying to direct them to being less of a liability to other players.

People who want to go 'freestyle' are, in my opinion, bad for the health of the game. So much so that I've seen a few people quit over multiple instances of having to repeat the first dungeon in the story multiple times because people can not and will not put the appropriate gear on. Last night in pms my friend was discussing how in Tam Tara, the healer was in starter gear, then the next time it was the tank.

Its getting a bit silly, and I'm aware that players have to learn that they need to gear up. How and why this isn't a thing taught to a player as if this was their first MMORPG is beyond me. Though my fix(es) are pretty simple.

Implement Ilvl requirements for all old content - This will make sure that players are aware they need to be gearing up alongside the content.

Block players using gathering gear from entering dungeons - Pretty simple and has the above reasoning as well.

Incentivize gearing up with dungeon rewards - Complete a dungeon and you have a sprout icon? You can grab one piece of dungeon gear as a guaranteed personal drop at the end of the dungeon per day per dungeon. Kinda like how loot works in early Stormblood dungeons. This will be the bait to lure them into gearing up their characters.

I don't really check the forums here, so I'm setting this out here (and probably forgetting it exists.) hoping that it catches the right eye and gets passed along.

I've come to the same conclusion. I was very surprised that certain MSQ trials in Stormblood, notably Susano and Lakshmi's normal modes, don't have a corresponding iLvl requirement.

The requirements don't have to be high, or even the recommended level for the dungeon or trial. But they ought to exist. There's a stricter iLvl requirement on retainer ventures than there is on multiplayer content!

    - iLvl 60 for 50 content
    - iLvl 90+ for 51, with small increases every 2 levels
    - iLvl 135 for 60 content
    - iLvl 180+ for 61 content
    - iLvl 250 for 70 content

Considering certain level 50 contents drop iLvl 120 items, certain level 60 contents drop ilvl 225 items, and the 65- 69 dungeons drop iLvl 276-288 gear, these requirements are all perfectly reasonable.

A lot of this comes down to the players. These leeches exist because the community permits it to exist.

Kick the tank wearing crafting armor, and kick the dps wearing ilvl 1 accessories at 70.

Let them figure out why on their own, and if it they simply don't know and refuse to figure it out perhaps they'll do us all a favor and quit entirely.

If you help one of these players through any dungeon, at any level, you are part of the problem.

You know that content at the level caps (50/60/70) have a min ilvl requirement based on the point of progression through the patch cycle, just the leveling duties (1-49/51-59/61-69) don't have any requirement other then a min level.
So many players (specially players with their third job or more) don't bother to upgrade their gear while leveling in content like PotD or HoH and hope to get something for their roulettes that fits their gear.

Why would anyone wear crafting/gathering gear anyway? The appearance? I can't imagine them wanting to grind out spiritbonding for whatever cheap materia you can get.

One of the first quests in the game is a quest that teaches you to keep your item level up to date (and probably requires you to buy pants you don't have at the time). There's no reason to let people join duties while horribly undergeared, in a game where vendor gear is actually completely fine.
