I dont know why people are so upset about a Car.

I mean. We have Flying Airships wich are Bigger than a freakin Town, we got a variety of Battlecrafts walking on 2-4 legs on massproduction, single seated choppers and so on. Yes the Tech originates from the Garlean Empire but since the Garlond metalworks seemingly become bigger and bigger, its absolutely possible that more tech spreads around Eorzea.

Please remember people: this is Final Fantasy, not Final Reality. Nothing HAS to be but everything CAN be.

I think the issue is that it stepped one toe over the aesthetic line, kinda in the same way the Whisper-Go rammed right through it during the Yokai Watch event. Where as the Whisper-Go mount is extreme cartoony fantasy the car hits a bit too close to the modern/realistic spectrum for some people. Which given the fact that we have so many events dropping gear and mounts that have this particular aesthetic issue I can definitely see why some might have an issue with it.

Personally my only issue with the car right now aside from event shenanigans is that it clips like nobody's business through most terrain. But that's kinda to be expected given it's size and how low to the ground it is.

Actually yes. A lot of those i know are upset because "Everyone and their Grandmother now drives around with it."
Or: " My Immersion is now completely destroyed! Cars dont belong in FFXIV."

And they are right. But we crossed this line looooong ago with flying turtles and what else there was...

Two wrong are not one right, but well... I think it is way too late to go back now.


My main complaint with the car is that it does not fit into the FF14 world - not because of immersion / lore, but because we simply don't have the streets to drive on with that thing. A Landrover would fit better.

This car breaks my lore immersion. Therefore I should tell everyone else they’re not allowed to have it too. (See other topics for people saying exactly this type of thing)

Though in honesty, I’ve not seen anyone upset. My only complaint is that it’s so large that when I’ve tried getting around some areas when everyone in the server has their car out, it’s a pain to see things.

I thought pretty much the same yesterday, driving my car through Mor Dhona to get to the CUL lvl 70 quest, driving up the narrow stairway and parking my vehicles front half on the kitchen table.
